I wonder why saban sold off PR to Disney though...i wouldnt sell something i put my blood sweat and tears into and am making money off of to any company no matter how much the price. And ppl. @Ennis Why Saban sold Power Rangers: http://www.saban.com/html/press/010723.html He certainly had good intentions, but it's really just the fans that are unhappy about the whole thing. Disney is still making money off of the franchise, somehow, kids are STILL enjoying modern Power Rangers, and us old-school Ranger fans have to cope with it. It's harsh and a lot of us think it's unfair, but that's why we have to help to educate today's generation of the original Power Rangers from Mighty Morphin to Time Force. ... Todays youth is left out and cheated out of the wonders we shared when Saban had PR under his name...If PR is still here when i have kids, ill educate them (if they are fans). Starting with MMPR. The legendary season =3 And guys im officially affiliating the PR club with the singles club. Since i got the idea based off of the success of that club i figured it was only fair (Gmeis gave me the idea xD). So feel free to bounce around between clubs. @Ennis If you still have the Power Rangers Planet link I posted back in the beginning, there's a bunch of videos of PR actors and all doing panels at conventions and such, not to mention most (if not all) of Saban's PR specials. |

New project: A special PR event where a war commences between the new breed of PR and the old school PR veterans. It would make a great story. And its easier to do because we have the characters and suits, we just need a good buildup to the war and all is good. Anyone game? Meaning something along the lines of Saban PR vs Disney PR? That'd be pretty awesome. :D Well, except that I personally tend to stray away from pre-existing characters because they are someone else's idea and not my own. This isn't to say that I have anything against pre-existing characters being used for fanfictions and such, but those kinds of characters have a pre-established foundation to many fans, so I steer clear of them when I write fanfictions. As for building up to the war, how about this: The setting as an alternate universe where the Disney PR protect a certain part of the world/universe (not like they don't already do that), but there's a leader (or even a council) that makes sure that his/(its) rangers stay in power while making sure that the old powers, trapped in ruins or whatever, are not discovered, claiming that they are evil and whatnot. Then various groups accidentally find their respective areas' old powers and re-activate them to become the Saban Power Rangers. The Saban-era Rangers are now facing off against the Disney-era Rangers, who will be backed by a society that will believe that the Saban Rangers are enemies. As for (tentative) pairings (by theme): MMPR (season 1) vs Dino Thunder Zeo vs Ninja Storm Turbo vs RPM In Space vs SPD Lost Galaxy vs Mystic Force Lightspeed Rescue vs Operation Overdrive Wild Force vs Jungle Fury Leftover are Time Force and the Alien Rangers who can probably make cameos as needed. With my pairing idea, we don't face problems between MMPR to In Space where the actors passed on to the next season. The downside to my pairing idea is that we will have a lot of different stories happening at roughly the same time. :/ The other downside to the pairing idea is that we'll need at least [16 * 5 + ~10 =] 90 different Rangers to think about if they're all going to be human with some sense of character. With this, using the series' characters might be useful, but if I'm going to help write this, I'm going to use original characters (meaning my own characters) where I can. |

Oooo! Dude! How bout if we had the council black list the powers instead. They would do that thinking that the Disney rangers are all that are needed to keep the world safe and there is a law passed that if any saban ranger is caught using their power then they would be jailed/stripped of their morphers. I also really like your idea Draik and im just shooting out different ideas and by original characters you mean made up ones right? @Draiken: I thought Gaoranger was the 1st disney ranger. But anyway I think it might be Intresting if the saban and Disney rangers crossed with there Japanese counterparts. And they each fight against there twice as deadly co-villians. And they have to team up to defat them. Only problem again is the number of rangers and the number of ppl willing to do it. Other than that it should be great. @Kira &ballz: I know I haven't posted in the RP yet I was waiting till I got home. A power failure happend when I had half of my post completed on Friday, and my laptop shut off. Lost the post. Van and I are approx. 4-5hrs. EDIT: scratch that. I'll IM y'al when I get home.

@Drake Power Rangers Wild Force is a bit of an odd one. Before Power Rangers was sold to Disney, the Wild Force logo had Saban's name on it like how Saban marked the logos of the previous Power Ranger series as shown between these two links: http://webspace.webring.com/people/pl/ls_graphics/images/wildforce_logo.jpg http://www.freewebs.com/rangerpower1993/BanDai%20-%20Power%20Rangers%20Wild%20Force%20Logo.JPG So it was partially made by Saban and partially made by Disney. In which case, I suppose that the Wild Force rangers could be a neutral part of sorts and the pairings would become Time Force vs Mystic Force and Lost Galaxy vs Jungle Fury or something. (In TF vs MF's case, it'd be a technology vs magic type of idea.) Personally, while Disney did take up the rest of Wild Force after the sale, I consider Ninja Storm to be Disney's first PR series. @Ennis Black list, banning. In all honesty, it doesn't make that much of a difference to me because it will end up leading to the same thing: the Power Ranger war idea you mentioned. And yes, by original characters, I mean characters that we think up and create rather than characters already established by the series. I should probably rephrase that last part of my post to clarify. |
