The ending is quite different from most anime i watched. The story reached a happy ending but the hero died. T_T |

Code Geass, for me i will say that it is the smartest anime among all anime. Characters designed by CLAMP, which i liked their characters and other designs as well. I must say that they did a perfect ending. But the sad thing is Lelouch died... and I'm very sad for that . . i cried in my heart !! The happy thing is that orange-kun is working on orange plantation. I hope there will be an OVA which tells us abt C.C's complete past, thus knowing her name since there are a lot of ppl wanting to know it. I don't really think Lelouch is dead since he havent fulfill C.C's wish as he promised and there could be a posibility that the driver of the cart where C.C's on is Lelouch or not since C.C talking style is just like talking to a person near her. I will have to say that Lelouch vi Britannia died and Lelouch Lamperouge live. This is the way that makes me accpet Lelouch's death scene that he died. As for Nunnally cries hysterically as her brother dies.. makes me feel a lot more sad about it !! Among so many anime, I respected Code Geass the most as it shows us wishes are similar to Power in that both are requesting from someone else something that you can’t accomplish with yourself. For Lelouch's life changed the world, I hope he will be respected by many people. Long Live Code Geass !! |

epic... Gosh, it really makes me feel like I'm there watching Lelouch got owned.... and I don't know if the driver in the end is Lelouch or not but I think he now lives in a ghostly state like Marianne, remember CC's last sentence being very ambiguous? He did transfer his memories to Nunnally, that's enough prove of him having Marianne-like power though I don't know where the hell he got that from... now I wonder if I can sleep after watching an epic ending like that... I was thinking of sleeping after I watch the last episode but now it still lingers in my head!

Kallen was crying in the end, cause I think she still loves Lelouch? I think everyone loves Lelouch after what took place. I'm more than convinced that what everyone has been discussing about lately, is true. I just want to see it actually happen or be proven, like in some OVA or special. :D ------- |

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Ia m speechless after that. The ending, I will admit, is one of the few anime moments to where I actually cried. I teared up, I couldnt help this! This ending was incredibly awsome, and incredibly sad - and the song chosen was amazing, And I tihnk it's by ' Hitomi Shimatani ' who does all the other BG music for Code Geass. But As far as Lelouch being here or not, I believe he is. He has the code, when taken/given from/by Charles wether he realized it or not. Apparently it only activates when you die, blah blah blah. Bottom line, Lelouch is alive, and Im deadset on tihnking that he was the driver of the cart. EDIT: Here is something I found that was posted by someone on myanimelist.net, whom doesnt know who ORGINALLY posted it, but I thought I would post it here. I take no credit for it, but agree with it all: Lelouch Dead or Alive? ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My take is that Lelouch is alive. The most obvious reason would be CC calling to Lelouch in the closing scene of the episode. As we can assume CC to be still sane, she must be talking to someone, and that someone would most probably be the driver of the cart: Lelouch would have to be alive. Second, however, and this is where the others have thought things through, Lelouch is alive because he got his dad’s code. He beckoned the World of C to lend him its powers, and he took Charles’s code before Charles passed on. The reason why Lelouch still has his Geass is because he didn’t take the Code from the same person who gave him his Geass: he took his Geass from CC, and he took his Code from Charles. Thus, he now possesses both immortality and a Geass. This is also a reason that the title is Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. To further corroborate this, however, remember that when Nunnally held Lelouch’s hand he transferred his memories to her. CC also did it when Lelouch touched her accidentally back then, so it could be assumed that people with Codes are indeliberate telepaths. This leaves us with both immortals traversing the world for the rest of eternity. It’s a great end, friends. P.S. Ending line of CC translated by bibi: “Geass is the power of kings, it will isolate you… well, I guess thats a little wrong… eh, Lelouch†P.P.S. Additional evidence, courtesy of `Nergal and 4chan: 1. Charles grabbed Lelouch with his right hand, which had the Geass sigil. 2. Lelouch needed the fully evolved Geass to transfer a code. 3. The code doesn’t appear to activate until someone dies. Hence, why C.C. was wounded when she first inherited her code. Same happened with Charles in the World of C. 4. When Lelouch touched Nunnally, Nunnally got a flash of his memories. This ONLY happens when a high potential Geass user touches someone with the fully evolved Geass. 5. The title of the series is “R2″, which is similar to how “C.C†is pronounced. So Lelouch would be “R.R.†which is Engrish (I presume) for L.L., Lelouch Lamprouge. 6. When C.C. is talking on the wagon, she says “the power of Geass brings loneliness…that’s not quite right is it, Lelouch?†and nods her head in the direction of the wagon driver. P.P.P.S More evidence, courtesy of an intelligent anon from 4chan: Orange knew of Lelouche’s and Suzaku’s plan and helped them out by ordering his men not to fire on Zero, he even smiled when Zerozaku jumped on his shoulder. Now would Orange, a man who devoted himself entirely to Lelouche and threw away everything without a second thought be OK with a plan where the sole person he wants to protect in life is actually killed? The answer to that is NO, not even if Lelouche ordered him to accept the plan: he would not go along with it and would protect him with his life. There is only one way that Orange would be OK with a plan like that and thats if he knew about Lelouche’s immortality, which I assume he did as he worked with V.V. in the Geass research base. Orange was OK with this plan as he knew Lelouche would come to no harm and would be able to start a new peaceful life with the woman he loves in a world which he himself had made peaceful. Even at the end, we see Orange on his orange plantation, completely content with the way things have panned out, he definitely could not be that happy had Lelouche actually died. There it is, firm evidence of Lelouche’s immortality if the scene with C.C. and the cart driver wasn’t painfully obvious enough. And why is it, that it was somewhat easy to see an ending LIKE this ( Lelouch dying ) as an ending? As much as I LOVED the ending, I somewhat expected it (Only the part about the dying though. The rest was even more EPIC. ) Another bottom line, Code Geass as a whole ranks as one of my all-time favorite anime - in fact, it may even rank as Numero Uno. By the way, This has inspired me to make a new Sig/avy set. Name of it? Lelouch: The Sacrificial King. Muwahahaha. |
Re: Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2

HEHE. here is more from myanimelist. The result of 24 hours worth of debate and analysis. I'm proud to have contributed to the following: "JadeMatrix said: I've compiled all the proofs (from the series) that Lelouche is alive. If I've forgotten anything, let me know. Starting from the more circumstantial evidence, then on to more solid stuff: 1. This series has had a history of using detailed extras. The driver of the cart at the end is completely hidden. He's probably Lelouche. 2. Following the habit of Code Geass' not allowing main characters to die for the slightest reasons, he's most likely alive (according to probability). And he's not confirmed as dead on Sunrise's official character status chart. 3. The name of the series: Code Geass. As we know, Code and Geass are two different but connected supernatural powers. This hints that someone (Lelouche) has both Code and Geass. Also, the second series is called R2, which would be (like CC & VV) Engrish for LL, Lelouche's name with a Code. 4. As soon as Suzaku stabs him, Lelouche covers his right hand with blood, presumably to hide the Code mark which then appeared. 5. Lelouche (Zero) is the man who makes miracles. Why would he pretend to die if this was his 'atonement?' Well, he's tricked people close to him before (Zero, evil emperor Lelouche), why not do it again? This way he makes everyone, including CC, happy (Nunally and everyone else who saw the plan were mature enough to accept his death). 6. Lelouche's words to CC in the cave in season one. He said that if she was a witch, then he was a warlock, and that he'd stay by her side forever. If he has a Code, then that will be literally true. Also CC and Lelouche's conversation in R2: "Hurry up and go, then come back. You're going to make me smile, aren't you?" "Yeah, I promise." 7. CC's words at the end of R2 episode 25: "Geass is the power of kings, it will isolate you… well, I guess thats a little wrong… eh, Lelouch?" Notice that she raises her voice, and points her head up/forward when saying this (towards the driver, presumably). CC has never had a habit of talking to people who are really dead. Specifically, she can talk to (or at least have some kind of connection with ) whoever she has a contract with, over any distance. She originally did this with Marianne, and now with Lelouche. 8. When she touched Lelouche's body, Nunally had a flash of his memories. This only happens when touching a Code user. She didn't know about his Code because what she saw were only select memories, like the first time it happened between CC and Lelouche. It could also be that Lelouche did not know he had the Code. 9. Lelouche stole Charles' Code. This happened when Charles grabbed his neck, and Lelouche told Suzaku not to interfere (although Lelouche may not have known what exactly was happening). Notice that a Code can be either forced upon someone or stolen. The nun forced her Code (presumably) on CC. Charles stole VV's Code (presumably), then had it stolen by Lelouche. It also seems that a Code doesn't activate until the person dies. It appears the nun killed CC when she transfered the Code, then killed her now mortal self. Lelouche was able to Geass Charles and command him to die; however, as soon as he killed himself, his Code activated, making him immortal and immune to Geass. The same happened when Suzaku stabbed Lelouche. Lelouche actually died, but his Code activated, making him immortal. However, because his Geass and Code came from different sources (CC and Charles, respectively), Lelouche has achieved Code Geass. Lelouche was able to escape after he died because he may have Geassed the people who were to be in charge of his body, or Jeremiah knew, or both. So now the Code Geass Lelouche (LL) and the Code CC travel the peaceful world Lelouche/Zero created, living together forever. CC does not need to die, as she's found true love, and one that will be with her forever. All hail Lelouche! Also note possible exceptions: 1. Charles may not have stolen VV's Code. VV may have given it to him in attempt to atone for lying to his brother. 2. The paper crane in the cart was not necessarily made by Lelouche. In episode 5 of Season 1 Nunally is teaching CC to make them. However, why would CC have any reason to make them; she and Nunally weren't that close. 3. The Lelouche that died may have been Sayako impersonating again. This is doubtful that although she'd most likely be willing, Lelouche wouldn't force this kind of thing on anyone; in a way, it would defeat the purpose of the death. Even if she wasn't willing, he's already Geassed her once. Add this to clarify: -When Lelouch died and slided down the slope, he formed a crucifix like Christ. Like Christ, he sacrificed his life to take the suffering/hate form the world. Like Christ, he is a martyr. Like Christ, he will ressurect. After all, the contrators are like gods. -Charles passed his code to Lelouch in order to curse him the pain of immortal life. Clearly, when he came flying towards Lelouch, Lelouch knew and told Suzaku to not block the Emperor from him. Anyone who thinks that Lelouch's death is still subject to interpretation just fails to see the subtlety in the series. It's like denying the metaphor purposely put there to tell the astute audience the truth. |

Lol, nice explanation there. :D To add on on number 9, Jeremiah knew, "Go masked knight," was what he said. And I think the others (The scientist group mainly) knew of the plan too since they were there when Suzaku and Lelu were talking about Zero's Requiem. On the possibilities part, number 3, I thought Sayako was thrown in jail like the rest were? And besides, her acting was proven to be a little too restrictive, when ordered, as shown before earlier in the series. The death was something only Lelu would be able to do anyways, and something he truly wanted to fulfill; not to mention his lines, while being stabbed, to Suzaku. Lol, you caught the biblical reference too xD? Nice I applaud you. |

Well, I thought the ending was great. It wasn't perfect but it wasn't horrible. And as the tradition of Code Geass goes, it leaves us with a slight cliffhanger. -Spoiler- My favorite part has to be the Suzaku stabbing Lelouch moment. Their final moment as friends... [If anyone remembers me, I'm one of the I-always-supported-Suzaku fans... I love Lelouch too...] And then the final brother/sister moment... This ending made me cry so hard. |

I think if everyone knew about what the real plan was, it would've been even more sad. When everything happened when it did, the people who know were only "shocked" to see? Some were calm as ever, which to me is odd but it's understandable. O.o` The huge debate on the ending continues all over the net and is starting on other forums as well. XD ------- |

Sob....sob...sob.....Luluoch planned everything so he can 'destroy the current world and create a new better world'..... The ending is quite touching, seeing how Luluoch actcualy is atoning for all that he have done, but Suzaku is quite tragic too, having to wear the mask of Zero for his rest of his life. And Albion is destroyed too!!!!! Im quite fond of Albion and Shinraiku

@DA Not really though =/ If everyone knew of the plan, how much different would the story have become? I don't think the current ending would have been possible anymore. I mean, -What would Nunally have done before Lelu got stabbed? -What would the original members of the Black Knights have done? -How much different would the world be treating Lelu? (I think it goes to the point of destroying what Lelu set out to do) -How effective would Lelu's "death" be if the stabbing was known? -(Expanding upon the previous one) How much emotional punch would this have on the audience if the whole cast knew? -Was it actually possible to even let them know without backfire? Well, that was what went through my head ^-^; |
