Yay, congrats to the winners! And it's a shame about those who did not get scored. Since the results are a mixture of scoring and voting, I hope there wasn't anyone who's score average would have been brought up. 0.o Anyhow, I am so looking forward to hearing this round's entries. XD

Arabbel, did you even examine the math? It's NOT additive. Judges scores and voting are both WEIGHTED equally. More judges scoring a contestant will increase their accuracy, but not increase (or decrease) their overall score (in general).

I was not referring to more judges adding more "weight," I was thinking about this hypothetical possibility: if one of the judges were to give a much higher score than the other judges (which, while rare, does sometimes happen), it would would bring up the overall average of the judge's score category for the contestant. And as judge's scoring is half the weight, a higher average in the judge's category would of course improve one's overall chance. The only person, as far as I can calculate, that possibly could have been affected would be rinsakura, who were she to get a minimum score of 17 from both the judges who did not score her, would have her judges score average brought to a 16, which with her 44 votes, would have put her in the top 25 (I think, at least - I am pretty foul at maths though). But again, that would only be the case if both the judges had given her a whole two points higher than you and Pame, which seems quite unlikely. :) I was merely pointing out a hypothetical scenario.

I want to sincerely apologize for not judging the rest of the entries. Believe me, it's hard judging as it is, and there's a lot of interesting entries to listen to and judge thoroughly. During that week, my internet was acting up because of a huge eastern snow blizzard and later when I actually got home, my internet was damaged. It took a few days to finally get it back up and working but by the time that happened, it was already too late to finish. I only had a day or so left to finish which was enough for me, ironically just at that moment the internet fully died. There's nothing else I could've done, I complained to Verizon they just kept hanging up on me. I just wanted you guys to know. It won't happen this next round for sure, I promise you (unless my internet dies again... it is Verizon after all).

I would just like to inquire about the different statuses of the judging that are used in this contest (pending, active,etc.) and what they exactly mean. It was shown before but I completely forgot how many there were. xD |

About Kuro's entry for the 2nd round~ I would like to remark it's HER entry. Not Kuuki's. The judges are saying "But the male" a lot. Which makes no sense since it's her entry and they should be watching out for her vocals and judge hers. His vocals should not be included in the rating. It's unfair because it's about her voice after all isn't it? I'm not trying to be disrespectful. I just wanted to point that out because I fear her ratings will be hurt badly by this slight error. I understand that everyone is only human and can make mistakes. |

I can speak for myself as the judging... She entered a duet version for her second entry...and honestly we could have disqualified her, but we decided to let it stay. (According to the rules if you enter as a solo, you must continue as a solo. If you enter the contest as a duet, then all of your entries must be duets). Anyway...I judge her voice alone, but it does hurt the performance a little if all I hear is another voice singing in the background, that is distracting me from listening to her, especially if the voice is off tune. You see? So, at the end, it will hurt her performance a little when it comes to some of the scoring, but NOT all. I can assure you, though, that I judged her voice alone when it came to technique, and interpretation without taking the other singer in consideration. Like you said everyone makes mistakes, that's human, after all, but we have to be fair and considerate with everyone. This is a semifinals round, so we have to make sure we judge accordingly. I can't give her the same score as someone who sang a whole 4 min song. At least not in the areas of song selection and production. I hope this clarifies a bit your concern. Mari, I suggest you read the How do the judges evaluate a submission for Gendou Idol? help section. As you will see, Song Selection is an important criteria.

I want to clarify something. Since production is being judged in this contest, would it matter if someone else mixed the audio for them? I want to ask this because i did my own mixing for my last two entries and as you can see, I pretty much suck at mixing. So I would want to ask first if it's... legal. XD Sorry for asking too late about this. |

from what i understand. you can have someone do everything for you as long as its not the singing. as long as it is your voice that is singing then it should be fine. if you have someone produce your song then it should be fine. im sure pame or gendou will confirm this once they are on but im pretty sure thats how it is

I wish I had another vote or two, it was hard deciding my last vote. :( Hate being a judge in these situations. But I'm happy with all the entries this round, everyone should feel proud! If I had better equipment to work with, I'd totally join myself in the future GIs!
