~St. Angelaxia City- Inn- Xero: I got just one question... how do we find them... we can't just rely on the fact that they are using beta equipment cause they can change that easily just to fit in... -then the boy was silent- Karuzo: You have a point right there... but my hunch is that place in Trithica, remember that place is the Capital and at the same time the event place, we can find clues and.... if they were being followed by hose tuxedo looking people Reimu: But if they not?? Cryoclasm found the villge deserted again, so it was safe to reveal the admin terminal once more. He put in his access information and opened up a new window. He opened the command interface and began typing. cd. Explore FGA. Open File netmgmt. A window opened, asking for his login information again and an office location. He retyped his login information and input FGAHQ in the offce location box. He pressed enter, and a schematic of the building appeared in wireframe so that you could see the colored boxes that represented individual nodes on the network. They were all colored somewhere between green, yellow, and red, indicating the mount of traffic on the node. He was looking for something specific. He touched likely nodes, inputting the chklog command for each. It took a while but he eventually found what he was looking for: An old log file that read, "Personal effects of Karasu, R recovered from employee locker. Moved to lab 3 for testing. Tests complete. No anomalies. Moved to Containment 4." Then, the final entry, from this morning: "Items removed to office P1." His breath caught in his throat. "He knows. He knows everything. I don't know if he knows what I can do, but he's still smart for doing what he did." P1 was the president's office. He made the decision quickly. He opened his character information screen and highlighted his access point data. He moved back to the schematic and touchd the only node on the top floor, the president's computer.He copied the computer's location data and put it in where his access point data was, and saved the change. That left one thing. logout Cryoclasm. He rematerialized onto plush carpet in a room flooded with sunlight. All of the walls were glass, as was the special elevator, the only way into the office. The top three floors were like this. The lowest was a meeting space, the middle was the living quarters of the president, and the top was his private office. Each used one-foot-thick glass instead of the concrete walls that the others had to support the structure above it. There was nothing here but a whole floor of carpet, a desk, a computer, a cardboard box, a chair, and a man in a business suit, all in the middle of the room. Rictus was standing in front of the desk, facing the president. "Hello, anomaly #42337. Rictus, if you prefer." There was a click, and the computer screen went dark. "You knew that my body was included in the data, and that I could materialize here by changing my access point." "And I also know that you can't get out of here while that computer's off. Let's talk," he said, standing up. He kicked the cardboard box over, and Rictus's things tumbled onto the floor. "Here are your things. We don't need them anymore," he said, grinning slyly. "We're going to delete you all, anyway. Unless you help us, that is." Rictus was still intimidated, and picked up his things gingerly, putting his other clothes on over the ones he was already wearing, so that they'd go with him when he digitized. "W-what? What do you want?" "I- and I mean me. Nobody else knows what you have become. You're technically still employed here, you know. Want a drink?" He was being dramatic now, making Rictus wait for it. It wasn't lost on him. Something clicked in the back of Rictus's mind. The president was acting. After a second, he knew why, and it gave him courage. The terror of testing was still eating him inside, but he could make it without shaking now. "No, thanks." Nothing else. A flicker of confusion passed over his face, but he hid it quickly, becoming the jovial businessman once more. "Fine, fine. I want you to report back to me on everything you and your new friends find out, everything you see." He was on Rictus's side of the desk now, sitting on the edge. Rictus walked around to the back of the desk and saw that the computer's CPU was still on. The monitor was plugged into a foot pedal that could cut the power. More theatrics. He pressed the foot pedal and shoved the president off the desk and onto the floor. He rolled over, incredulous. Rictus didn't miss a beat. He pulled up the login screen and talked quickly as he put in his information. "Your theatrics are for nothing. The anomaly sealed our data. You can't alter our data anymore. Your overacting told me that." His finger hovered over the enter key. He was sitting up now. "What? We'll get you anyway. You're still vulnerable!" "So are you. But I'll survive. I'll beat your agents. Good-night, Mr. President." He pressed the enter key and felt himself go away.  |

~RaptaSigma, Trithica~ Serenade: hoo...I'm tired from all this idle thinking... *he stood up from the fountain's parapet * Serenade: might as well...have a look around and enjoy the scenery *he starts walking around, looking at the stores players set up, cute pets (and some weird looking ones), some bard and dancers performing by the street till her wandered to what seemed like a bad place for the city, where he met some problems....* Serenade: *thinking* well...the city is nice and all...but i can't say for sure for the downtown area...how's I get into this situation... *apparently, he was surrounded by rogue players...* |

Rictus checked his map with a 'friend modifier' to locate Anshin. "Good, they're still here." He had flown back to St. Angelaxia, looking for the others. They needed to be warned. He closed his map just outside the inn where they were. "Alright, here we go. Combination Spell: Frosty Column!" A large blue glyph appeared under his feet and a column of ice slowly rose out of it, elevating him to the window of the room that everyone else was in. It was difficult to keep the column slow, and he was out of breath by the time he was done. He tapped on the window. "Peekaboo." |

Anshin almost fell asleep when he heard a knock on the window. "Guys. I think someone wants to talk to us." he said, pointing at the window and going back to the bed.  |

Kanon: well...I heard rumors of a hidden event here...so I came down for a look. I happen to pass by when I saw ya...those guys should be blinded for a couple of hours... Serenade: a sudden surprise attack...how quaint... Kanon: but you didn't go blind...how come? Serenade: oh, must be because of this... *pulls out a necklace he was wearing. It looked like a 10-sided dice* Serenade: it's a Dice Impact. It's not really a rare item, semi-rare to be exact, but I still use it Kanon: why? You got lots of rarer equips with you...i bet you have something that could even negate all ailments 100%! Serenade: nope, I don't have such a thing, and I doubt FGA will make something like that...anyways, I just love the design Kanon: hnn...oh yeah oh yeah...have you seen Blizzard? Serenade: I did, a couple of hours ago...he logged off since his teach gave too much homework and starts calling her evil and stuff... Kanon: *looked irritated* eheh...I see... The company knows about us. They can access the system and follow us around if they want. More than that, they have ridiculous administrative powers that could even bring the trees here to life and capture us. Worse, they're covering it up in the press and such, possibly exposing more people to whatever it is. The half-bad news is that they have no clue what caused it." He shook his head and shrugged, a hopeless gesture. "Good news, though. They can't manipulate our data anymore. Our characters can't be deleted, and my administrative priveleges are still in effect. That's bad planning on their part, and they'll probably throw up a second security layer that I'd need a password for. Better news, they don't know everything we do, and they're looking to turn someone into a spy. As long as we all stay loyal to this side, we're safe." He leaned back against the wall, grinning. "I also might have a few clues as to what's going on here." |
