lol, katakana is harder to memorize and less significant compare to hiragana...I personally couldn't memorize all within weeks due to lack of interest in katakana at that time....On top of that...just like you have pointed out...It sometimes can be confusing. |
Re: Japanese Learners Club ^.^
|
yah that is one of my main problems, not so much アマ as シツ ソン クタ (ku and ta) and マムgoing crazy with this @_@ going into Japanese 2 in school in a few weeks, just finishing up 1 and the final next week and we need to know the katakana by then |
Re: Japanese Learners Club ^.^
|
To learn the Katakana, you just have to push yourself (the same way you would to learn Hiragana) The main big things that should be remembered about Katakana (in my opinion) ソン (first is "so", second is "nn") ツシ (first is "tsu", second is "shi") アマ (first is "a", second is "ma") Thats the only problem I still have with Katakana. That, and the fact that Sa is surprisingly similar to Hiragana Se. Good luck though! (^_^)/ |
Re: Japanese Learners Club ^.^

does anyone have any tips for learning the katakana? i have already learned and memorized the hiragana with few problems but when it comes to the katakana half of them look the same @_@ |

Are there other example on this too? I mean for sureba... |
Re: Japanese Learners Club ^.^

"ã“ã“ã§ã™ã‚Œã°ã„ã„" depends on the tone of your voice too if your tone indicates that it's a question then its "It is fine here?" if it's not then it's "It should be here" I just recall, the "so sureba ii" is "sou sureba ii" means that it must be like that

Re: Japanese Learners Club ^.^

I don't really know how to put this but at one point when I was walking at the mall..I heard a japanese guy said "Koko de sureba ii." Does it means that "It is fine here." And how to use "sureba" cuz in my text there is only one example..that is "So sureba ii"..... I am unable to google from the net too... Need your expert opinion on this. |
Re: Japanese Learners Club ^.^

do you mean by just "ã™ã‚Œã°" ? would be really helpful if there's the whole sentence : D

In some cases, ã¯/㌠can be interchangeable. This is one of those cases. |

Re: Japanese Learners Club ^.^

So you can say... That the usage of ヴ to represent V is for newer terms in Japan? Is that it? |
Re: Japanese Learners Club ^.^
|
use of ヴ has become rather commonplace. Vivi would be written as ヴィヴィ in most cases now, rather than ビビ which would be Bibi. However, I think this applies more towards words/names that have entered Japanese use more recently. Older words such as video are still written as ビデオ instead of ヴィデオ as for use with hiragana...I have to admit I've rarely seen it used, except in some cases of onomotopoeia and maybe one light novel I read a while back... |
