| Hmm, I think one defination of bestfriend is being able to lie in bed with a close friend of the opposite sex, both half naked, and the guy in only a pair of boxers, close to each other talking with lots of eye-contact WITHOUT getting any feeling of awkwardness or urges despite the fact that both of them already have their own BF or GF. That situation happened to me just 2 weeks ago =P But to be fair we've been friends for, at our best estimates, we can't remember when we met, 17 years out of the 20 years we've been alive. |

True friendships can last as long as a lover. But that doesn't mean that I love my girlfriend any less or that I'm having feelings for my bestfriend. There is a difference between the 2. Those numbers are just our best estimates because we honestly can't remember how or when we met. We just know that in our earliest memories we were already friends. |

Please quarrel with me. I KNOW I'm right x99999999999^(∞) Examples, back up, evidence, please argue with me. Kimmy can join in too. I'm getting this thing from most. Friends will be there before your love and after your love dumbs you. Love doesn't dump, infatuation does. If you had real love there is no experation date. This is my argument. People seem to be saying best friends better than girlfriend/boyfriend. Absolutly correct! That is because it seems people here are talking about the kind of girlfriend/boyfriend relationship where there is no love. When your in love, your best friend, girlfriend/boyfriend, and everything else is your lover. If your lover is the not worlds most inportant person to you, I will say you aren't in love. I myself won't have a girlfriend unless I am in love with her. I will give her my soul. She is number one, I live for her, shes is the sourse of my happiness, when she dies so do I. I ain't gonna do that for my bestfriend. If you can do that for your best friend I would say you are in love. I am going to go ahead and add more to the argument buy saying love is also more important than family. Bring your arguements, I can back up my statements more than this. you're bestfriend stay by your side all the times and agrees with you no matter how crazy youy idea is unlike your family they contradic everything you say so what is the point? you decide....

I have a bestfriend who is a girl (she's the sweetest person I could be with forever). However, we love each other. And we know it. The reason goes very deep. But I don't want to address her as honey or my girlfriend. For me, a bestfriend is better because you don't have to be insecure of your feelings. Me and my bes(it's what I call her) share mutual feelings and we don't get into a discussion of a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship! She had relationships of the past and now she's settling down. I'm filling the part of a big brother/bestfriend to her now. *blip*  *blip* |

I will also decide that best friends are better than family. I actually hate more than half mine. However I know some who are family nuts and would definatly argue it. So love>friends>family for me. To Jaylon. I don't know whether your siding with my argument or against it. Eventually I think you won't be insecure if you call her your girlfriend. She may be getting over these so called "relationships" but as I see it you are closer to a boyfriend than anybody in the past. I tip my hat to you, however I am not wearing one. Since you love each other I don't see the chance for either of you to have a relationship with someone else. Will you just stay friends forever, or maybe break the ice later in your life. i kind a get you jomunga...but ofcourse in the end theyre still the ones left for us and will never leave us... anyway the question was bestfriends or bf/gf right? hmmm...it depends because if what you feel for your bf/gf is the so called "true love" [lol] then you will definitely choose him/her over your bestfriends... i never encountered that kind of situation where you have to choose between them so im not sure what will be my answer lol -kino \m/-

I like it Schala. Be it bestfriend or girlfriend. People would probaly choose which ever one they love more. If you choose family, it means you love them more. I don't think their status or rank will make any difference in your choice. Just for me love is saved for my girlfriend, thus my choice. Yet to people who think they don't have to make they choice. You do at some points. Like who will you spend more time with. You probaly wont have to decide who dies and lives, but little conflicts between the two will arise. A maid actually raised for the first years in my life. Not my family. You must love your family very much to say always. I do not. Jomunga eats your avatars. |

I have never been in that situation....and IF, big IF, my gf didnt like my friend....and made me choose her or him..........it would be my friend. BECAUSE, with true love, you take the good and the bad TOGETHER. And when you love someone.......you dont care about there flaws....

| is not really a hard question... at least in this situation... just compete with your friend fair and square in order to get his love... is the guy's choice not your choice, if he likes you and not your friend, even you choose your friend will also wouldn't help anything... love is not something like a gift and can give it to others for any reason... plus, if you two are really good friends, things like this couldn't hurt your friendship... i guess... but is all up to you what to decide... good luck... ^_^ |

Actually its a case to case basis but for now I would say "Best friend". It's so hard to find true friends you know... and finding a girl friend can sometimes be a walk in the park ... literally i mean that well, hmmm... we were on a bar and we've met this girl and some chat and they decided to have a relationship (just like that)... then, atleast their relationship last a week or so...
