heheh. nowadays I think religious folk use heaven and hell in metaphorical ways, but not describing them as literally clouds or literally burning flames of doom.

I don't believe in heaven and hell. I don't like religions that are viewed as materialistic--- being so damn pious and do lots of charity in order to go to heaven, or else do lots of sins to go to hell.

It's freaking ridiculous. Once we die, we die, or else turn into ghosts that dwell on planet earth

Once you are dead, you are gone. Second life don't make much sense.

There is no life after death. Why should there be? Death is not called the end for nothing.

To begin with, when i daydream about the after life, i think you'll just be in a dark endless void. But, I also believe in reincarnation. I've been paying close attention to animals, and some of thier actions or reactions are almost human like. I find it weird but ture in my point of view. Secondly there's that circle of life thing. Your born, eat other organisms, die, then the organisms eat you, then your born again(reincarnation). Anyway thats all I wanted to say about death.

@ shige.
You are the classical kind of flame warrior, who states something, and tries to persuade others with his own statements. eg. God is God... 'cos it's God?
Believing is okay, if you believe that you need your belief, believe in it. But believe me, belief doesn't worth flaming. Flamers will burn in the flames of hell, didn't you know? :)

Me, well, I think I was a half-nihilist until the last few weeks... I didn't care what happens at all, but I did care if it was something that makes mother happy or sad. Getting used to things can be annoying. Many people out there can't even imagine that they do not live. They see many living ppl and they also see people dying, but the death of other people doesn't make their life 'much' different. They are still conscious, they can still think, they still see objects around them, so they are sure, that after THEY die, nothing will happen. They will live on, eating and sleeping and breathing and thinking the same way as before.

}It is possible that there are heaven and hell, but it is more likely that they are imagination. I bet on BigBlackNihil, You can bet on Nirvana :)
}There are no 'outlaws' to talk to, so we are -not- going to see the case from other viewpoints. If you have talent to persuade ppl, you lie better, or you have more LSD, you might be able to make up a more colorful story which more people will believe... If it worths that much for you, go on, I'll read it... However, if you -seek- a -thruth- that is true from -all- viewpoints, (even from the UFO's and God's etc) you will fail. It's theoretically impossible. (another chance to bet :)
}The only suspicious guy around is you. Don't trust yourself. Therefore, you can trust anyone else leisurely, becuse they fool themselves too...

Moral: don't trust even this post, it may contain false information!
I am very sorry (for the rainforest) if I harmed somebody, but this is the style I can explain my thoughts. I cannot point it out, I have to describe it around, some may understand, some may not. I really don't care.

Well so far the evidence shows nothing.

I believe when you die you just cease to exist.

Your brain controls your thoughts and memories. Without that working you don't think.

So yah when I die my body will just rot in the ground and become one with the earth again. While my reality will cease to exist.

Death focuses our mind on what is important in life, we can waste so much precious time on worthless things. after all we must spend our time day after day, hour
after hours, etc,etc and all. Beside if there was Life after death Many of us
would wanted that if we choose to live another life if our life was crappy and
you may never know if your next life is gonna be a happy or sad life. the only
way for us to know if there is one is to experience it when our time has come.
(yea yea i know "experience it" yea right if that's what ya are thinking) and who
knows if we're gonna be born again on this same planet or somewhere beyond life
or death.

Hn. I don't know what I believe in just yet. There are good theories and opinions about everything. My opinion is this:

We can't prove anything, so don't base your life around the thought of an afterlife. Live your life to the best of your ability, so no matter what happens or does not happen after you die, you won't regret it.

For example, I would totally regret not accomplishing anything in life if there was no afterlife. However, if there is one, I wouldn't regret living my life to the fullest.

So, yeah. Srs bizness, this is. Better to be safe than sorry.

Hell I really hope I just turn to dirt after I kick the casket. Life is only precious because it is a finite resource of time our consciousness gets to play around on this mud ball of a planet(in character at least). An infinitely expanding consciousness does seem to follow a logical path only because we, ourselves, can not live or experience anything outside the bounds of our universe and reality. Infinity just seems...tiring.

Even if you can't see something, it does not mean that it doesn't exists.
Call me a mad man, but I myself am a believer. There are always things that you cannot explain with logic.

Why would morals appear? Where does it came from?
Morals were invented for one purpose- the Judgment.

Why would we conscious of ourselves? Why would we consider the values of our actions?
Animals would never consider the values of their actions.

Yes. There are two choices. Believe that there is a life beyond death, or refuse to believe it.
To me, the only thing were arranged was your birth, your lover and your death. The rest of it is your choice to make up to. Being a weakling humans are, and since I am one of them, I refuse to take the possible risks of being eternally tortured by flames- thank you.

you know how you get wiser with age?
like, when you're a kid, your world is small, just family and school and tv or whatever.
then, as you grow up, you find out more about the world, and your consciousness grows.
this growth never stops, and by the time you're hecka old, your consciousness is huge.
you know several generations of people and you've seen lots happen on earth.
at the moment of death, your consciousness expands to infinity.
since it is spread out so wide, encompassing everything - living and dead, past and future, large and small - it can no longer hold on to your body.
the consciousness looses its influence over the body.
the body, now lifeless, tries to find the consciousness.
in doing so, it breaks down into it's composite parts - individual molecules - and spreads out across the world.
by doing this the body, too, becomes a part of eternity, and in doing so returns to the consciousness.
this is time-independent, too.
looking at time reversed, from the point of death, back towards birth, the molecules of the body which were coming together appear to spread apart, rejoining the whole world.
during the time that both body and consciousness are infinite, it can be said that one experiences everything.
after death lies an infinite timeline of infinite awareness.

you know when i read this,i can actually see the pictures moving from my head..like they are real..feels so awesome to read that over and over..haha..it is in fact very beautiful

If you want to know what death feels like try this.

Remember how you felt in the many years before you were born? That is exactly how you will feel when you are dead too.

First post so take it easy ;)

I would like to think of it as a creation of your own mind(like and extended
dream formed from you subconscious beliefs).Whatever you believe is the
afterlife when you die you get what you wish for. You create your own Heaven or Hell. But it doesn't really matter to me. Every theory is just as plausible.

But ultimately like a lot of previous posts. It doesn't really matter what happens
when you die.Regardless of heaven or hell, rotting or nirvana, virgins or worms.

In the end it's all about where you went and not where you're going.
Why waste time thinking of where we go when we die and instead just live trying to save a life ?
Death is just another barrier unique to everyone of us. We'll just have to see when we get there.

Believe in the possibilities don't limit them.

I firmly believe that after we die, judgment follows. We can either go to Heaven or to Hell.

^_^ Ah well death is like birth itself in my opinion.. no point in putting to much thought into it when one will die regardless.. and cannot remember one owns birth.. O_O.. in either case, my thought in the matter is the same as Einstein.. we are just energy.
