Well, I find this interesting but I can't apply it to a larger group since it commits logical fallacies. I find all of my hardcore Christian friends do not believe that there are other beings in the universe besides humans. All of my scientific Christian frineds (Modernized Chistians) say there are MAYBE other beings. All but 2 Agnostic and Atheist friends say there ARE other beings. (2 out of 16 I asked, they said IDC and Don't Know) Buddhist friends say most likey. (3 out of 35 friends I asked) I have yet to ask Muslim and others. But most likely will result in the same to be the same as Buddhists. I asked a total of 90 friends and all of them only belong to one group. I chose it to be that way because I was doing a research for a Paper. Btw, my topic was, "Does religion affect how one thinks about the existence of other beings in the universe?" I'm so glad I found this topic. |

We are never alone.. there MAY be existence of some other lifeforms in another planet.. though this has yet to be proven.. XD |

We can't be alone. With all the billions ofstars, trillions of planets, and the fact that life struggles to take hold of any bastion it can grasp onto (such as plankton living in the depths of the ocean riht on a volcanic vent on this planet) that life just can't simply be a mere chance. Though we may find life we don't expect, you know, the non-carbon based type. That's one problem with those who think "are we alone in this universe" is that they think "alone as in the only carbon based intelligent life form" because anything that isn't carbon based would boggle our minds and disturb it too greatly. Star Trek tried to grasp this idea, but they came up with first this rock thing (original star trek) TTen with a colony of crystal life forms (ST:TNG). And that in itself seems a bit small minded. And besides, if life is so diverse on our planet, just think how diverse the universe must be! It may be that when we do meet an alien, we wouldn't even know it is an alien because of what it looks like until it shouts at us (or attacks us or whatever) Oh, That point of religion and their viewpoints of life on other planets. Of course most devote religious people would not want to admit, or find out about this. For it would shake their world upside down. They would be suddenly thrown back into an age of uncertainty. Asking all over again questions that their bibles had once answered, and finding no solace. For if god made us in his image, who or what made the aliens? Did god make them too? or is this proof that god is indeed a human formed idea, and creature, all to ease our poor, scared little brains?

yesh, there must be some living form in this vast universe....there is no proof that we are the only one that live on this universe... ohh yeah one thing again...we can create a new hybrid creatures using biogenetic/technology or something like that :P...then is this possible that human are something that created by alien?? ![]() ![]() |

We would be selfish and ignorant if we do not recognize the chance of other life forms (intelligent or not) existence. In our own planet, some researchers find life-forms in areas thought to be uninhabitable as they have evolved to survive in those harsh conditions. In the vastness of space, there is sure to be a planet that contains life as we ourselves are able to live in one. Research has already begun in finding "Habitable" planets by using our solar system's basic design. They are looking for a system which has similarity to ours and have said to have found numerous systems. ![]() Kneel Before the Great and Benevolent Cow! |

3 dimensional space has it's limits. We shouldn't be alone in space. There's always some organisms out there. Bacterias most likely XD |

It used to take God or the heavenly thoughts of some other grand designer to create life. Then there were theories that predicted the creation of life under certain circumstances given enough time for rearrangement. Nowadays it's thought to be very easy for life to become, just look at theories like the "metabolism first". Our entire planet is covered in animated stuff of all kinds. It would be pretty weird if all this were different elsewhere given our knowledge of more or less the same distribution of matter and the general upholding of nature's laws everywhere. I'm not a pro in exo-biology or anything but my guess would be you just have to pick up a rock anywhere and it'll be there. |

I'd say it's extremely unlikely that we are alone, I mean life has billions of chances to spring up, if we were the one exception that would be kind of depressing and it would literally be a waste of space. |

There has to be other lifeforms besides us. There are millions of galaxies, stars, and planets and I think it's kinda arrogant for humans to think we are the only planet with life. And If we are the most Intelligent life in the universe, that's kinda sad. |

There are recorded accounts of supposed alien encounters going back for thousands of years. 'Course, the persons involved thought they were "holy" encounters. There is also the possibility that the persons involved were also the inventors of crack. However, the number of supposed modern alien encounters rises every year. I think it all comes down to the human imagination. Just like with ghosts and religion, the human mind invents big stories out of small details. You see a flash out of the corner of your eye. You turn. Was it a cat? No, there are no tracks in the dust. Then was it a ghost swooping past, or a UFO in the sky. Most would just say they thought they saw something, but there are the few who would tell a story, just for the sake of being heard. And there are those who genuinely do believe it was something supernatural. Anyway, do I think there are other lifeforms? I'd say there probably are. Is there another iron rich planet, like Earth, that has evolved oxygen dependent lifeforms? I find that less likely, myself. I don't have any references, sorry, its just what I've seen on TV.

I'll answer this directly.. YES, we will be alone in the end. When we died, only the memory remains. So yeah pretty much alone... |

I highly doubt we are alone in the universe. With the variety of life and the different conditions they can witstand, surely there is at least some other life out there. IF A GOD OR SOMETHING MADE US ALONE WHILE CREATING A WHOLE UNIVERSE JUST TO OCCUPY OUR MINDS WHILE WE WAIT TO DIE, I WILL HAVE LOST ALL RESPECT. |

Well, I think there are one-celled organisms out there somewhere since Science tells us that we came from one-celled organisms that hitched a ride on a meteorite that fell on Earth some time ago. So I say no. But then again I could be wrong about the hitching part and our minute ancestors could have just spontaneosly existed brought about by random behaviours of atoms and molecules. But then, there is always, God. |

| My friend, who told me that he read it from somewhere, told me that we, humans, have only discovered around 4% of the whole universe. I'm not sure, but supposedly there are other life forms apart from us. |
