Like they say, the book is always better than the movie. I think it's the same for anime/manga. Manga tells a lot more of the story, but in the manga sometimes they miss some details and it doesn't always make as much sense.

I agree it really depends on the series, but if I really had to choose I choose manga because it's sometimes more in depth.

I agree with Key pwns :3, with me it really depends on the series.

Sometimes, I'd perfer the manga over the show and vice versa. For instance: I liked the Shaman King and Ultimate Muccle Mangas more then I enjoyed the shows.

Eh? It really depends on the series.. but I do prefer anime over manga. I first started reading manga, then switched to anime. o_o

It depends on the series.

I usually tend to prefer the Anime, because it has both movement and music, but in some cases, I prefer the Manga.

I used to prefer anime to manga, but lately I've been liking manga more than anime. I suppose because for one, it's cheaper. Also the stories are more indepth, and I usually like the art better.

I still really do like DVDs, just not at the rate where I would go and buy a random DVD like I would a manga. I'm more selective when it comes to buying anime, I guess.

I'd read the manga first because it's where the anime (mostly) originated from.
And besides, I think you should know beforehand, the creator's original version of the story.
If you draw anime maybe you should concentrate on reading manga first. So you can copy your favorite artist's style of drawing.

Watching anime is also nice if you want to see color and movement.

Both manga and anime have their advantages and disadvantages but for me i like both. Anime has colour, movements, sound, and so on while the manga can tell a more clear story of whats happening plus its a good spoiler since the manga is normally faster than the anime. Oh and anime has good anime songs too.

and here's someone warning me against my worst fear...

both are not bad... but i think finished the manga first is more enjoyable,
sometimes if you confused 'bout the story in manga you can get the point in anime series,
so ... it's up to you ^_^

I'd start watching the anime first--you can see and understand more if you watch the anime. Then, I'd read the manga (if I liked the series that much) because sometimes they've changed a lot in the anime. Anime usually origin from manga--so yeah, just to see if I missed anything.

If you decide to start a series, if you start with the anime and then go on to read the manga you already know the general story and the voices, etc. But the usually the anime will add-in other things that were not orignally in the story, thus they differ from the manga-ka's story. Also, the anime may just be really bad while the manga might be really good. But to start with the manga means that you get the entire story and the chance to make your own assumptions regarding voices and such for the characters. It really depends on your own stand=point. I personally like reading manga as opposed to watching anime.

Your kimono excites me.

both are fun to do but manga goes into more depth of a story. anime lets ya watch, oogle, and just enjoy the series in color.

I think both are great. In anime you can hear them talk and make all their face expressions and see things move. In manga its kinda funny like a comic strip that goes on really long. and its black and white most of the time so that sux unless ur colorblind..

I like both so i joined the anime/manga club at my skool. and wats wierd is that theirs anime hentai and doushinji which is manga hentai so they have similar relations i guess.

I think both....Watching anime is good and reading manga is good.. But in manga you can know a lot about the story itself but in anime, not. SO I don't know which oneto choose but maybe I choose anime..
