Shurikens are jaoanese throwing stars. Ever see Naruto? They use those all the time...I know how to make paper shurikens...they're fun... |

 This is a shuriken. Mostly, they'd use a kunai as secondary weapon in Naruto. Then they'd throw them like shurikens. |

that is only one of many types of shuriken though, you can have the standard 3-7 point star shuriken, or the 1 or 2 point bo shuriken, which are closer to being darts, Welcome Shadowshocker to the forums, here's a pic for you  this one is from the beserk series of anime
