I'm new here, found this site through my friend. I'm quite into jrock and jpop. I also like the crock, but I've only heard Silver Ash so far... so I don't really know of any other crock bands. Favorite jrock/jpop bands: Hyde L'Arc~en~Ciel Dir en Grey Kotani Kinya Lolita23q Gazette Alice Nine Panic*Ch Gackt Malice Mizer Moi Dix Mois Hide Merii Miyavi And a lot more too xP I love the animes Love Hina, Gravitation, Chobits and Naruto the most, but I've seen a lot more. I probably don't remember half of what I've seen though. I have a deviantart account: http://shadowkitten05.deviantart.com and I'm not afraid to show off a little bit. =) I'm also on two jrock forums, one completely Hyde related, the other one mostly relating to lolita23q. I'll website-drop if you're interested in either. Hmm... other stuff about me: I'm 18 years old, fresh out of high school this year. I'm going to college in january.. I went to art college for like three weeks, but dropped out when I realised that it's best left as a hobby for me. I live in northwestern indiana, in the united states. I have a dog, a boyfriend, and parents that act like they still own me, even though they don't. I'm very opinionated when it comes to things from Japan, which is the country that I love very much. I have a few friends over there, and am probably going to be going over there for vacation next summer with my boyfriend. =) *waves* Heyas everyone! =) |

Welcome, to Gendou, my friend, Sakura. I promise you it'll be fun with these guys. Trust me, I've already been a newbie like you did. Yoroshiiku onegai shimasu! I hope for the best here. Oh, mkay then. It's just that I'm an artist on dA and I see a lot of random art theft, and I don't look upon it all that well. It's nice and all, it's just that, well, I like seeing credit given for pictures, and I know that really well drawn anime one is from someone on deviantart, but their signature got cut off. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name of the person. |

To ShadowKitten05...^^ I totally understand where you're coming from....I'm an artist myself...completed my animation course/comic book course last year.I wouldn't be to upset if someone here displayed a pic of mine....that's how we get our work out to the public...however.... My take on this pic sharing is if you say that you did it/or that you drew the pic that is stealing....I don't think the creators would mind if there creations are shown to the public....some of them even have sites to show their talents (which is what i plan to do)....that pic that i shared was shown on www.hongfire.com...that's is where i found that one. You have a deviantart account..why?...to show of your talents....to get recognized....to get that big break you're looking for....that's what all up & comers want.Showing off your talents you run the risk of someone stealing it and saying it's theirs.... I'm sorry if this post upsets you in anyway....but i totally agree with what you're saying...i have a couple of pics in the "u draw anime" thread...anyone can steal those but that's a risk i'm willing to take. This is all for fun and gives new members more reason to stay...go ahead and try it....^^ |

Not all artists are using it as their "big break". Some people just go on dA to improve themselves (I've improved a lot in the 2+ years I've been there), and for me and for a lot of others that I talk to on that site, we're just there to have fun and meet other artists. I was going to try for art college, but I dropped out a few weeks into it and I'm just leaving it as a hobby. There are a lot of deviants who think much differently than you do, as well. Some of them get really pissed off if people use their images in any way/shape/form, or even just post it on other sites, even if they never claimed to being the artist. I've seen a lot of battles in my time on that site, and they're not very pretty. An artist that is very popular complains about art theft, or their art being just plain posted without any credits on another site, and they go to take it on themselves, and before you know it, hundreds of their fans flock to the scene causing much outrage and disorder. I've seen this time and time again, and I really don't want to see it happen with a bunch of wonderfully nice people. That's why I'm cautioning. A friend of mine who is also on dA sent me this website, and I believe she's going to put the link in her dA journal - she's been looking for a lot of anime music for a long while now. So yeah... you guys might want to watch out with these random picture posts, because dA might be flooding this place soon here, and I don't want any of you to get in trouble by fans of some random picture posted here. Just want to look out for you guys. |
