I love Sushi,espically Maimi Rolls. I believe Sushi is a type of art form (well the making of sushi anyway), what do you guys think?

have you ever had natto sushi? thats pretty gross.... i can stomach just about any food japan can throw at me, except for natto. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Never heard of it. What is it? I can't stand California Rolls, they taste like glue.....yuck!

Almost everything Japanese has some sort of meaning, though I'm not quite sure about sushi. I know the traditional tea ceremonies were very popular tourist attractions because they would teach the tourist about traditions, and how to make proper tea... and ikebana... ^^ I should research it though, I've been making sushi for a while, and my mother never said anything to me...

Hi, Natto means nut or tightening nut!! ~,^ okashii desu ne... ãªã£ã¨ã† - nattou means fermented soyabeans!! Heh, sushi with nut? I wondered how it taste?? Hope this will stop you from goin crazy!! LOLz Ja mata ne, mi-chan

My favourite sushi is sake sushi (Salmon sushi) I alwayz request the chef to put more wasabi paste into the rice ball!! Umai sou ja!! ^_^ ja mata ne, mi-chan

Waaaaa..........I like sushi verrrryyyyy mmmuuuuuuccchhhh!!!!! But as long as they're not raw!!! In my country, it's hard to find sushi anywhere except in big famous super market!!!! And they cost much for a packet of sushi!!!

Recipe for Sushi rice: You need: Rice vinegar (normal vinegar will make it taste weird), sugar, sushi rice, salt, Mirin (optional) 1)Wash the sushi rice. I dont care what the hell the directions say, the extra starch in sushi rice will screw up your sushi and make it nasty gooey 2)Stick it in the rice cooker if you have one (the water is a little above your thumbnai if your thumbnail is cut until it cannot be cut anymore)//if you don't have a rice cooker, cook it like your normally cook rice on stovetops (i dunno how stovetops work) 3)5 minutes before rice is FULLY cooked, prepare the vinegar: ~~~ a>for every cup of rice, use one tablespoon of rice vinegar. 3 cups rice=3 tablespoons rice vinegar. b>for every tablespoon of rice vinegar, 2 and 1/2 tablespoons of sugar is required. I know it's a lot, but trust me, I use 3 tablespoons for myself :P c>Salt and Mirin for taste. Too much is bad, as Mirin can make something taste a LOT like alcohol and salt can make rice taste well...salty ~~~~~~~ 4)Now that the rice is done cooking, either take a rice spatula or a fork and fluff up the rice 5)SLOWLY drizzle the strange white liquid around and around the rice as you mix carefully. I bet most of you dont have a wooden spatula (i don't), but if you REALLY wanna do it pro-style, they drizzle a bit onto the spatula and fold the rice over and over to loosen and mix the rice. 6)Now you are ready to do the sushi stuff. You might want canned tofu thingies, or dried seaweed to make sushi. >some other ingredients you might wanna consider: canned bamboo shoots, carrots, avacado, smoked salmon, string beans, tuna, salmon, imitation crab, bean sprouts, cucumber, black and white sesame (toasting yourself would be smart), and you can think of more, can't you?
