O_o that's the second I've ever heard of anyone say J-rock. It's always J-pop. It's clearer when people say J-rock as well as J-pop...  |

it is too hard to teach a language using only computers. one needs human interaction to truly master a language. i recommend you ask your counselor at school if there are japanese classes offered at your local community college.

I tought it to myself.. no classes, and like.. 4 books.. mostly a phrase book and japanese>english dictionary. but you know what? everything I know today was inspired by watching subtitled anime, and reading Japanese manga. Now I could probably speak the basics fluently... and im only 15 T_T what im saying is that everyone could learn something if you try hard enough so if you can't get help from other people on the net(agreed Gendou, it would be too hard to learn over a coumputer) then go ahead and try learning the basics yourself. its not as hard as everyone thinks =) |

J-Rock means X-Japan.... jejejeje.... I'm trying learn Japanese by pdfs and tutorials to, but it's really hard.... specially the "writed Japanese"... jejeje..

learn english first. i would like to tell you... it's "teach me english" ... no "teach english to me"... ==' learn japanese... through songs and animes.

I mostly do self-studies with my Japanese dictionary since I'm the only one in the family who's really into it. And aye, basics. You learn just by watching Japanese animes, not dubbed, but with translations on the bottom screen. Memorizing lyrics is also one way. I actually memorized all of Ruruoni Kenshins! One of the major accomplishments, I guess. By the way, my favorite is 1/2 by Kawamoto Makoto. It's because I had to allot more time into it, rewinding the CD over and over again just to get the right tempo. It's way fast! |

just the basics i learned not from any anime: watashi means "I " as in "I am sleeping". anata is "you". just trying to help thats all

Im learning College level Japanese which is harder than Highschool level in US but im in the basic level as well. I have a friend who took it for 4 yrs so he knows wayyy more than me. I can write a little bit in Kanji, pretty okay in Romanji, and in the Haze... something i suk really badly. Umm ive tried learning from Anime it can only get you so far in the basic range. OMG i said "Anata Wa" by mistake to my sensei and she almost kicked me out of the class i think its rude to answer that way. my favorite words to say are: Itte kimasu:Im leaving, Itte Dakimasu:im grateful for food?,Bakaero:dumass,Aho:idiot,Comenahsai:sorry, Arigatou:thanks, Damae~:bastard, Ikuzo:lets go, Banzai!!:hooray!, Yosh..:Okay?,and other words are my everyday words to say. If u want to learn some of the basics google it. its the easiest way to cheat hehehe..  |

hey do you guys think it is possible to post post a thread that concentrates solely on teaching japanese? for example: those who know japanese can e-mail all the basics of japanese to a person, who will then consolidate evreything and post it on the net. however, the person consolidating cannot be just one person. i dun mind being one of those. my sch hols are starting anyway ^^ at the end of each post of lesson, we can always post the topic to be taught on the next post. so, those who know jap can email the information on the topic to the person consolidating. well, did what i said make sense? does anyone understand? pardon me for my poor english.

yadda..Im studing japanese from an online tutor. He sends me stuff from Japan. So yeah if you have any questions about anything I could ask him for ya ;-)

I would like to learn japanese and the proper pronounciations of each word. Please I would like the basics advanced and as much as my little brain can absorb since I wanna live there when I leave USA it will be for rest of my life. And part of my dream. Besides I hear the people are humble and somewhat peacful like. and the money is different like 100 us Dollars are somthing wulong or yen I dont know but am very eager to learn. if you can please help thank you. by the way like the song Inner universe a lot but has no idea what any of the words mean.
