Roof windows are made of transparent glass and often open. They let light in and, when open, release hot air. Skylights are made of translucent glass, ofter of wired glass for fire resistance, and rarely can be open. |

A skylight, on the other hand, is a window installed in a roof or ceiling that allows natural light to enter a building. The skylights can either be fixed or opened. Round, rectangular, and triangular are some of the shapes and sizes they come in skylights do not project out from the building and are flush with the roof or ceiling surface. |
