Help Needed

Hi everyone, I'm been looking at all sorts of philosophers (Aristotle, Socrates, etc...) but I haven't actually began studying none of them. I'm new to philosophy, so could anyone give me suggestions to start off with, such as how should I approach this subject and who to start off reading first. Any help would be appreciated! p.s. I'm not sure if this belongs in Philosophy or Other, but if i'm wrong, please accept my apologies. |

I found Richard Dawkins to be fascinating. He would be my recommendation for anyone who's scientifically inclined. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Wow, thanks! After reading that thread MegaZero47, I think I have a starting place in mind. And Gendou, Mr. Richard Dawkins seems to share many of my views. Thanks for the help! You should see me around the philosophy area more often now. One more thing, It's amazing how smart high schoolers are becoming, isn't it? |

I agree with Gendou, Richard Dawkins is a good place to start, Sam Harris writes some fun stuff as well, but i personally suggest Al Gore's Latest book The Assault on Reason, but that is more of a political book then it is philosophical. |

I found Sun Tzu's The Art of Warfare stuffed with philosophy, but maybe I'm just reading more than what was written...
