Addresses in Japan.
|
Hello! I have yet another question :P I was curious to know whether people in Japan, or others that understand addresses in Japan, could help me understand this one address I have from a friend. Yes, I have Googled on how to understand addresses but I still could use some help. Either e-mail me @ mickey_mouse1010@hotmail.com or explain in this thread.

Well... what do you want to know about Japanese addresses?? If you're trying to find directions on how to get to an address in Japan, then I can't help you.. They're almost impossible to figure out, I think! (^^;;) The best thing to do is ask a local... |

No it's not how to find a place. Yeah I heard they were difficult to understand. 3-29-5-992 Asakusa Taito-ku Tokyo (seven numbers inputed here) Japan (I am obviously changing the numbers) I know that the first os house number, then block number, then zip code...or sumthin like that. But, what does it mean? I wish to figure this out because I need to know how long from the airport it would be, and so on. Thank so much.

Well... It's a bit confusing, because you have written the address, the English way.. which mixes up the numbers and names from their original, Japanese order. (^^;;) In your example, I'm not sure what the first three sets of numbers mean.. but "992" must be an apartment number. Since most people in Japan live in apartments.. Are you staying in a hotel or at a friend's house? Anyway.. if you write a Japanese address the English way, the Postal Code will appear as the last seven digits of the address. That's all I can say... P.S. -- If you want to know how long it'll take from the airport to the place that you'll be staying in, you'll also need to know the directions to that place!! (^^;;;) I think.. "*lol* |
