inori wa toki o koeru

In the depths of my teared-up eyes
Is your unchanging figure
“Where will the world continue to?”
Are the words from the days have ceased

Even on the freezing, stormy nights
I continue going towards the unseen you
Teach me, the ocean-crossing winds,
The prayers that surpass time

Beyond the hazy horizon
There’s an episode of sleeping stars
“There’s no unending night,”
The sin from that day laughs

I embrace the trembling you
And gaze up at the unreachable void
I hear the bell that illuminates the darkness
The road to you is far

Even on the freezing, stormy nights
I continue going towards the unseen you
Teach me, the ocean-crossing winds,
The prayers that surpass time

Even on the freezing, stormy nights
I continue to go toward the still unseen you
Teach me, the ocean-crossing winds,
The prayers that surpass time

The prayers that surpass time

The song was really good, but the one thing is why does the translations different than the original song?

i'm kind of confused. The English dubbed version of anime had different lyrics. Why is that?

I wasn't initially going to change this, but as poetic as it sounded, I just couldn't figure out where the translator found some of the words used in the translation. For instance, there's a pretty big difference between "unchanged appearance" and "everlasting beauty," and I can't find the word "uncertainty" in the line with "trembling." But back to the matter at hand...

Translation notes:
1. 「どこまで世界は続くの」 = literally "Until where does the world continue?"
2. (words in brackets) are words that are implied but not explicitly stated in the lyrics
3. 眠れる星の挿話 = literally "episode of a sleeping/dying star." 眠れる can mean either sleeping or dying, and since stars are more likely to die than to sleep (if the latter is even possible), I chose to translate it as 'dying.' Episode (挿話) here is as in an incident or an occurrence in the course of a series of events (i.e. the life cycle of a star, in this case). Hence the lines 霞んだ地平の向こうに 眠れる星の挿話 would literally mean "Beyond a misty horizon, an incident of a dying star."
4. The usage of が (as opposed to は) lends greater emphasis to the preceding subject, making it clear that it is あの日の罪 (the sins of that day) that are laughing.
5. 道は遠く = literally "the road is far," which is how you'd say it in Japanese, but I'm pretty sure we say a road is long in English.
6. 祈りは時を越える = literally "Prayers cross time" like how people talk about crossing time and space. When combined with the preceding line, the persona is asking the winds to confirm this, that is that they do indeed cross time.
