| I hope contestants are using this time to go ahead and record their next song even if they aren't sure whether they made it or not. Don't want more people to not make the deadline like in round 2. |

| I suppose. However, if it were me, I'd just file it away for next season. One less song to have to record. And the song would be recorded with all the feedback from round 1 and 2 still fresh in my mind rather than waiting until next season when the feedback might be tucked away in a forgotten recess of my mind. |

I somehow agree with Takeshi. recording something and knowing you wouldn't be using it is kinda depressing (for me,that is). using it for the next season is a wise thought, Sakura. very good idea over there. :D but by next year there will be more new song choices to choose from and I doubt the old cover would come to mind to certain contestants (exactly what happened to me, in my own case. my own case T__T) even judges would love fresh new songs as well, right? it has been a week and it is understandable that the judges have their own life to live, but the winning contestants have a life too, so i guess it would be fair if the judges could just tell them earlier about their standings privately, and the radio talk show can be done later, to the public. I guess just by looking at the votes and scores contestants can somehow know whether they're through or not. so all the best to the contestants, you guys are awesome~ sorry if I sounded a bit harsh on my tone, but I would just wish to speak out on how it feels having something I look forward to being delayed without known reasons given by any judges on this thread for.. a week. Keep us updated, please, my respected judges. I know you'll all understand what I've written. Nothing personal intended. |

Bluey, I do agree that it would be nice if the judges could alert the winners "behind the scenes" or so in order to let them best use the time before the official announcement. On the idea of the judges liking "fresh" songs, have you noticed the general reaction from the judges when an oldie is used? Usually they say it's a nice change. I think that covers of songs are pretty much timeless as long as they suit your voice. Personally, an older song might even make you stand out more in the crowd of the latest and greatest songs to cover. Personally, I'm already working on planning and recording for next season. For all 4 rounds. So by the time next season rolls around (if I can get in *crosses fingers*) all my song covers will technically not be current any more. However, they will have been selected for how well they suit my voice rather than how new and cool sounding they are (and all 4 I'm thinking of using aren't current to this or last season of anime. I think the most recent song is from an anime that aired last year). This isn't to be an argument, btw. Just something to discuss while waiting for the radio show. :) |

You can compute the scores using this formula. (total-judge-score / 20) + (total-votes / maximum-votes). I already know the top 10 contestants but I think it's better if the judges would be the one to announce. :)

I'm with Takeshi on this one concerning the music choice discussion. I tried using the "I'll file it away for next year" system last year with another contest, and I ended up not using it because I got into other songs. However, if you happen to have a YouTube account as is, then why not just upload it on there as a normal cover? I prefer challenging myself every time the new round comes around, though. Unless we have to physically provide the files for the entries beforehand according to the rules (Like how many convention idol contests go), then I don't see what the problem is with having a song choice ready but not following through with it until the winners are announced, and you happen to be in that list of winners. |

| A suggestion with all due respect to Gendou: how about implementing the ranking algorithm to automatically display results after a round ends (judging + voting)? This way, the contestants don't have to wait for results without knowing when they'll be out, and the admins have less work to do. I'm sure there are downsides to this I'm not aware of though. |

BEIBI SHIKAMACHU K?TSI VINAR ANN HORIZON AKANO-CHAN ARIAH FOME1 TAKESHI YOU ALL DID AN AMAZING JOB!! PLEASE, ADD YOUR SONG :) AND TO EVERYONE ELSE, DON'T FORGET TO VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITE! THANK YOU! About the songs selection: ADVICE: PICK CHALLENGING SONGS. At this point in the competition you MUST do the BEST you can do and impress the judges. The 10 finalists are all amazing, but ONLY 3 spots will remain...so you must choose your song wisely, something that will showcase your vocal abilities. It doesn't really matter if it is an oldie or a new song, just as long as you sound amazing, and it really impresses, then you are on the right track. One thing I noticed on Round 2 was that some contestants who had amazing entries on round 1, picked very slow, boring and not challenging songs which hurt their performance in general, when compared to a different entry that makes the judge widen his/her eyes and sometimes get goosebumps. You get the idea, right? This is the round in which I judge the toughest. From what I've been told, I transform from a Paula/Jlo into a Simon, so beware XD Naaah, just kidding... ANYWAY, GOOD LUCK! |

| Wow I can't believe the judges gave me a perfect score... I feel I don't deserve it, it wasn't my best vocal performance although I gave it my all, thank you very very much to the judges and the people that voted for me, and I wish the best to the finalists, which happened to be the three I voted for, and I hope they bring their best to the final round and blow me away as they always do. |

I'm stunned. After looking at my comments, I thought for sure I wouldn't make it, but somehow I got enough votes to pass. Thank you so much everyone who voted for for me. I struggled recording this entry because I could only sustain the notes for a few minutes each day. The judges pointed out that it sounded strained, and they are right, because I definitely abused my vocal chords... But after so much effort, I couldn't bring myself to just scrap it halfway through and record a new song, so I decided to just submit it. I'm so grateful that enough people liked it to vote for me. Takeshi, I really appreciate the support :) And BTW, your entry was fabulous! I look forward to the final round! |
