It's been a long time since I've posted anything here at Gendou. Glad to see that things are still as I remember. But down to the point: I spent the past 3 weeks working with several of my friends to make a game for entry in Boing Boing's "Games Inspired By Music" competition. Now it has been submitted and the finalists have been announced. The final vote is up to the public. I am asking you, the Gendou.com Community, to go look at the entries, and vote at the bottom of the page for what you feel is the best one. My personal favorites are Flatwar and Infiltration, besides my own game, Space Junk. If you my game isn't the best, that's fine vote as you please. I just have a feeling that the developer of Beat Boost has a lot of friends voting for him, and I don't feel like it deserves to win. There's my plea. That you play games and vote for the best. It's what I do on a regular basis, besides the voting part, so I feel like it's a pretty reasonable request. |

When is the deadline? I start school next week, but I'll definitely give it a look see. Saw some of the entries, your games looks fun, might try it out myself given the free time. ------- |

I just played through them, and I voted for Space Junk in the end. It was simply more fun than the rest ._. Beat Boost just wasn't very fun, Knife Tank was pretty clever, Flatwar was awesome, yet Space Junk simply kept me interested the longest. |

@da I have no idea when the deadline is. Probably only a few more days. Even if you can't vote I hope you enjoy the game! @maiku Thanks for the vote. Now tied for 2nd! Seven more to tie for 1st! |

The game uses a ton of CPU, but it is a Flash game. I like how tons of attributes are scored on Kongregate! The central concept of the game is fascinating: your bullets and engines are one in the same. I wish there was a key to mute sound, that's important for web-based games. I wish there was a strategy for rebuilding your health bar by killing easy enemies if you get low. This is difficult because it seems as you go up in level, so do the randomly encountered enemies. Maybe enemies should get stronger each boss you kill, instead of in proportion to your level? By the way, what is the algorithm for encountering enemies? Why do my weapons sometimes overload? What exactly changes on level up? It would be cool to have a pause button!!! Also, maybe add weapon power to the HUD? Why is there a max speed? Why so slow? I love how you can focus your weapons fire! That's brilliant. Sometimes boss turrets are buried in a ways, making them nearly impossible to hit! The music is catchy and helpful when it changes near a boss. I wish missiles weren't be so darn hard to kill, maybe lower their HP? I'd like to be able to tab through targets to judge which supply crate is closer. PHYSICS PROBLEM: Shot comes out not at a constant speed relative your ship, relative to the background! This makes Einstein cry, and aiming correctly while moving difficult. |
