As Ren said, someone else will do the same. You see, people only stop after it happened. We learn our mistake after it happened.

Hitler did it, we see the effects, and learn that its wrong. Because hitler did it, more people values the peace. However, the lesson Hitler taught us will soon be outdated and people will repeat their mistake.

Then they stop when they learned the pain once more. This cycle continues. This is where the world is going.

It's a bloody mess.
You think that's messed up.
But you're living it right now.

But it's not yet decided in stone. As long as there are people who thinks this way, we are the antibody whose voice halts the damnation of mankind yet.

Well, sorry for being poetic.

It could be that another leader would have managed to promote more peaceful ideas within Germany, and the arms race and the war would have been avoided.

Communist ideals in Russia would probably still have distorted and they would have invaded and oppressed the surrounding countries and possibly more,
until the allied would eventually rise to resist them, resulting in a war just as bad, or at least the cold war scenario.

Progress on many fields of technology and science would be halted because the war economies gave a huge boost to them.

Finland would probably have capitulated to Russia, which would suck for me. >_>

In any case it was the political inaptitude and the aftermath of past conflicts that caused the war, leaders like Hitler just happened to be the ones carrying it out.
While there are many possibilities, making a quantitative prediction would be impossible...I guess this is why historians don't do "what ifs"

Well if hitler never existed there would be an infinitely amount of possible outcomes where neither probability can be assigned with just pure speculation.

Another leader could of emerged with an arms race indoctrination and of course there would always be people trying to assassinate the leader (see history channel's 42 attempts to kill Hitler documentary..)
Millions of people might have not died, that would result in a cause and effect
Our world might be more peaceful or war-salvaged with conflicts
Racism, imperialism, militarism might have been expanded or pacifism/etc might have changed
Technologies that might have been developed might not have or other alternate technologies might have been invented/etc
Territory might have been gained, lost, annexed or whatever by whoever, etc.

If Hitler never existed, I honestly don't think there would be too much of a difference. Some other nut would have popped up with ideas similar to his. The Holocaust still would have happened in some way, shape or form, an event like that was bound to happen some time or another even if Hitler never existed.

No matter what, WWII would have happened with or without Hitler, with or without the Holocaust. Like Kotaro said, the Germans weren't happy with the Treaty of Versailles. Germany fell into despair because of it, and the Germans, despite knowing why this had happened, refused to accept the truth. They needed an excuse as to why this all had happened. Then Hitler came along and told them to blame it on the Jewish, so they just went along with it. If Hitler never existed, then as I said earlier, some other nut would have come to power and told everyone to blame it on some other group. The holocaust still would have happened, WWII still would have happened no matter what sort of leader was on charge. Maybe if Hitler never existed, another leader would have been more merciful than Hitler. Then again, there could have been another leader who would have killed even more people than Hitler had.

And this is my view on things without taking the war in the Pacific or any other countries into account. Taking other countries and such into the matter would just make WWII seem even more inevitable. Even if Germany wasn't even involved in WWII at all whatsoever, the war would still have happened. The Holocaust might not have happened, but WWII definitely would have happened.

Without Hitler there would be no Israel and thus no war at the Gaza.
Furthermore, the regrowth of Germany would have happened a lot slower aswel, since he made all those highways etc.
Also WW2 created the NAVO aswel as a more global community, we became more involved with other countries.
Lastly it made some big improvements in sience aswel, mostly human capabilities. Ofcourse the result will never make the means legit. But still, some things really changed for the good.
However unfortunatally some things changed for the bad.

~ivary~ still need to make a real signature ^^
