[PLOT] The year 2040 was the birth of the Global Unification Faction, a force consisting of 5 different countries (US, UK, China, Indonesia, Germany). Their goal is simple: "Recruit" more nations and eventually rule the world. The world started an arms race for their own survival, it was a matter of acceptance or resistance. In the year 2045, GUF created Coats, mechanical, robotic suits that were usually twice a human's normal height. They were equipped according to each soldier's demands and thus, most were never exactly identical. Given its small stature, it was easy to customize and fit one's demands. The other countries adapted the Coats, but they were obviously technologically inferior to its creators'. In the year 2046, an organization called Horizon appeared. It intervened in the arms race and the plans of the GUF, but most of its soldiers were mercenaries. There were over 400,000 people enlisted from every country imaginable. They enlisted anyone who could operate a Coat, so there were no exact specifications. Of course, this encourages discrimination. People were encouraged to settle their differences without the need to call the attention of the higher ups. Its facilities included a simulation area, dorms and even a school for the younger soldiers. Apparently, the whole organization was heavily funded by all nations as it continued its work. The operations were usually done by teams assigned to you upon entering the organization. The maximum number of people would be 5 per team. [RULES] 1. Follow all Gendou Rules 2. I am spreading myself way too thin on the RPs, but I want to give this a shot. Also, would try to make the pics "on-click" to save space, but it's almost 1 in the morning, and my tags aren't working properly, so maybe later. Name: Rictus Karasu Alias: The Moonlight Raven Gender: Male Age: 18 Appearance:   Insignia: (My favorite, the consuming moon.)  Bio: Rictus operates the Moonlight Coat, a flight-capable model. As a child, he dreamed of the sky, and now he can play in it as he likes. He's knowlegeable about many things, and is a capable fighter, although inaccurate at long range. He prefers close-range combat, and is partial to swords as his main weapons. He left his parents, avid supporters of the GUF, because he considered them to be "Mindless fuel for the machine." He encourages free thought and creativity, and is a generally nice guy off the battlefield. On the battlefield, however, he's merciless.  |

Name: Isaac Reyndalt Alias: The Sound Sniper Gender: Male Age: 17 Appearance: Isaac: A blind boy who is always seen with a walking cane. Has clean, whitish-blond hair with long bangs on the sides and a large lock of hair sticking out from the top of his head. Usually seen wearing a white vest and blue pants. "Retreat" Coat:  The Coat was designed around sniping since Isaac couldn't exactly deal with real-time fighting. Each of the "cases" could detach itself from the Coat and attack using the twin barrel beam rifle. A very clear outline of the area is done using ultrasound and the radar attached to its head. It is also able to hover above the ground and move faster than it already is. Insignia:  Bio: Isaac was blind ever since he was 8 after an accident. Due to this, his other senses have exponentially strengthened, especially his hearing. He could use sound and vibrations to somewhat trace the world around him. The reason he usually remains silent is to hear the sounds and feel the vibrations. His family abandoned him due to the thought that it was useless to have a handicapped child. Living in an orphanage until 13 when the GUF took over that island. He managed to escape and join Horizon at the age of 14. Some of his fellow operators mocked him for his disability, but Isaac would never reply. He would often ask about colors as a way to comfort himself. Isaac joined Horizon since he wanted to bring retribution to the bad. He wanted the GUF to lose because he had already lost everything. |

@karasu this RP sound nice! let's try ^^ Name : Firo Prochainezo Alias : La Faucille Noire (The Black Scythe) Age : 23 Gender : Male Coat : Escarlate A close combat type Coat, it designed to destroy massive number of targets in silent and with one-hit-kill. It’s equipped by a lot of parts and stealth equipments in order to do the job. Including a Mirage Coat that capable to blend with environment around it and become invisible (by distorting the light). It’s also equipped by a special booster, Cerberus, that make it possible moving without any noise. And a barrier that prevent it to be detected by sonar and heat detector (but it will require it to spend most of the system to concentrating in operating that barrier, including the booster, so when using the barrier, it can only use a minimum speed of the booster). Its main weapon is a progressive scythe. But it also equipped with a long-range rail gun, homing and micro missiles. Insignia :  Bio : Firo born and grow in france. he was a soldier that works for the nation. But because of some reason he quit from national military and become a mercenary. And soon after that, he was recruited by HORIZON and become its soldier. His background and past is still a mystery because there’s not many information about him and the trace of his past. Firo is a carefree man that often looks very off-guard and do whatever he want to do. Also has a very sharp tongue that often said harsh or rude things to other but always careful when talk to other, he’s professional in deceiving people around him. He’s a heavy smoker. Coat/Appearance   Name : Ennis Graham Alias : White Tiger Age : 19 Gender : Female Coat : Blanc A close combat type Coat that mainly using swords as it’s main weapon. It’s designed to kill a lot of target frontally in a high speed and in one-hit-kill attack. It’s equipped with a massive number of parts that support its speed and movement, but lack of defense. It used advantages of its speed to cover its weakness. Equipped with a high speed booster and afterburner, Valkyrie, that make capable of turning 360 degree while moving in a very high speed. It also equipped with a special radar and lock-on system that manage to keep trace and sight of enemy while moving in a high speed. Its main weapons are swords that located all over its body. It has 8 swords; 2 on its hand under its shield, 2 on its back near its booster and wings, 2 on hang on its hip, and 2 short swords on its shoulder. Unfortunately, its only has a chain gun on its right shield and a few of micro missiles as its long range weapon. Insignia :  Bio : A daughter of one of HORIZON’s higher up. His father, Ladd Graham, is an important person in that organization. She decided to join to its force to support her father idealism and make him proud of her daughter. Ennis is military-style girl that obey and respect the rule in HORIZON. He’s one of the few female soldiers in HORIZON and often gets some trouble because of her gender. She always acts strict and cold to other.   Name : Sophie Harvent Alias : Hawk eye Age : 25 Gender : Female Coat : - Insignia : - Bio : She’s an operator as well as mechanic and researcher in HORIZON. Sophie worked as a mercenary along with Firo before they join to HORIZON. She’s a professional sniper at that time. But because of her interest in Coat, she did a lot of experiment on it and soon recruited by HORIZON. Sophie joined HORIZON quite a long before Firo. She manage to get a good position in that organization as researcher who give a great contribution in developing Coat, weaponry, program, and others military equipment. She’s the one given a responsibility to monitoring Blanc and Escarlate. Sophie always looks so mature and dependable. But when she find something interesting or when she want something that have connection with military things, she would act selfish and childish. She always treat Ennis like her own sister.

@Dream Eater: Your characters come in threes, don't they? I've also noticed that you're partial to French names. Parlez vous français? ^.^ I still can't figure out why people aren't jumping on this. Dach always has great ideas, he just tends to go off the grid somewhere during the story, which kind of leaves us in limbo... No offense, real life comes first. EDIT: Why'd you change the second alias? It was cooler in French! XD @Dach: Oh, speaking of story, what's ours? I know we're in Horizon, but are we looking for something, bringing down the GUF, or just doing armed interventions? |

@karasu ahaha, 3 character = 1 main + 1 sub + 1 additional. that's the perfect combination to play with my style (first-person point of view). i can develop the main character background through his thought to other character and other character act toward him. i've gone around the world along with my sister Henrietta (did you know her? she's a player here, but since she married, she's seems busy with her job as wife and as a researcher...), and i loved France ^^ (unfortunately, i barely know a little of French...i understand but can't actively use it ^^) well, let's see how it will turn out ^^ well, i just want to make some improvement and adjustment to the background story (since we'll go global, i don't want to expose things about nationality) after all, i want to make Ennis as a British but i agree with you, it's sound cooler in French ^^ @dach where's GUF's base? how many countries had been occupied? (i saw indonesia mentioned there, i'm currently in indonesia now, it's a nice and wonderful place^^)

US, UK, China, Indonesia and Germany are the ones leading the GUF. GUF's base is stationed in Australia. (Close to Indonesia only, if my memory proves right) Horizon is focused around bringing down the GUF and stopping the arms race, so the missions will range from armed interventions to destroying facilities that do not necessarily belong to the GUF but still pose a threat. Should we still wait for more or should we skip along and formulate the first team? I'm fine with any of the two; I'm just asking for opinions. |

I dunno. We could do it by ourselves easily. I could create one or two more characters, if necessary. We could try campaigning in other RPs for people, or we could PM the members from the two you started a while back if they're still active. |

Name: Samuel O'Harris Alias: Aegis Vanguard Gender: Male Age: 28 Appearance:   Only turtle-shell green, and a shield on left arm.Insignia: Not so much an insignia, but a pattern, the hexagonal pattern of a turtle's shell. Samuel displays this on shield and Coat Bio: Samuel was at first ecstatic to hear of a "peace-force" to consolidate and regulate the advancing technological leaps leading to, simply, personal tanks. He eagerly joined the GUF to help defend from any of those who would cause his family, friends, or country harm. For his apparant valor and vigillance in his duty to defend, they set Samuel up for advance line, leading him to become that which he fought so hard to defend against, an invader. While defending off a wave of enemies themselves equipped to give his team time to retreat, he fell under heavy fire, and while rescued by the locals, saw the truth in what the GUF had become, a conquering army. Disillusioned, and determined in his newfound belief that the world itself needed defending, he has taken up arms with "The Horizon". Being a former GUF coat, Aegis itself has thicker and originally, a superior build than many of The Horizon, but having taken such heavy fire, no longer has her superior speed, though Sam's new comrades did do a superb job fixing her armor. Now a slower mobile than many of the more agile coats, she still does her duty in being a shield for those who maysoever need it, while also providing cover, suppresive, or offensive fire Special ablility of Aegis would be her ability, with her low low center of gravity, and pure tanklike qualities, can, at a further reduction of speed, transport another coat on her back, allowing that coat to fire over her, and providing that same coat additional cover. ************************************************************************************ Sorry for Wall of text crit, but I too love novel style writing.  |

@Karasu: Campaigning in other RPs would require permission from the TC, right? I haven't seen posts from most of the people from my other RPs, so I don't think that would do much good. Well, I think we have enough people to start... We have 5 people who can join a team, but what would you guys prefer? 1 full team or 2 separate teams? If we're going with the latter, I wouldn't mind controlling another character. |

@dach i think starting now wont hurt... i prefer 2 separate teams, it would easier to make conflict. well, i mean here, 2 separate teams that currently work together, because if we scattered too far, it would be hard to make the story flow smoothly... so, HORIZON is somekind of terrorist from GUF's point of view, right? so, where's HORIZON's main base?

Now that we have more people, I think we can finally start. @Thana: Of course it's okay to invite others. The more, the merrier, right? @Dream: Horizon's main base is in Australia. Groups have been placed in the main post so please check! If there are any problems with the groupings, please do not be afraid to PM me about it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Horizon's military-like hangar was filled with its "employees". There was machinery everywhere from the cogs that were parts of a much bigger machine to the Coats themselves. Sounds from both the machines and the people that populated the area filled the air. The heat today was bearable, but it could have been better. Sweat was trickling down the faces of mercenaries and soldiers alike. They traveled in groups as they did their work. The soldiers spoke to each other and engaged in mindless conversations as they did their daily chores. They maintained their equipment, helped around with things and those who did not finish their education had to take what were similar to assignments except it was more of an investigatory thing than actual classes. Isaac constantly tapped his walking cane on the metal floor, looking straight ahead as he carried his books in his arms. He was blind, so he constantly felt his surroundings. He heard the conversations and sounds of the base, trying to create an imaginary layout of his environments. "I still have a couple of assignments that need accomplishing, but I think I could do it in our group's conference room", he thought as he felt the wall with his hands and guided himself into a corridor. He felt the top of each door as though he was looking for something, and he eventually found it: Braille. He entered the room and sat down, taking out his books and opening them. |

(Oh, now they decide to show up! ^^ @Dach: Mind if I change my insignia? I didn't want to use my first choice because I use it for everything, but I've decided that it's more relevant this time around.) Rictus was under the Moonlight Coat's feet. It was suspended by a crane jack, giving him full mobility. Today he was calibrating the new LAT (Low Altitude Thrust) system that he'd been working on. The old system focused more on load balancing that was better for strafing around an enemy. His new system was capable of load balancing, but it featured a more powerful heel-mounted rear hover module that would be turned down for load balancing mode. Its primary functionality would be low-altitude dashing and forward thrust capacity, decreasing the need to dive to achieve maximum impact force. That was only one project on his list of things to do. His next priority would be a rapid refit power cell system to offset his new power demands, followed by a reserve capacity increase. And after that, the list went on and on. Rictus was never satisfied. He came up with ways to improve his Coat faster than he could implement his ideas. He wiped his forehead with his forearm, barely registering the heat. There was just too much work to worry about such things. |

I think I’ll change the order of my character, I’ll using Ennis Graham as my main character. [Ennis Graham] [HORIZON hangar] It’s getting hot lately in this place, especially with this many Coat loaded in this hangar, it’s really cramped here. Too many soldier walk and talking to each other while more engineer checking their Coat and taking some equipment from storage room. I’m Ennis Graham, one of the few female soldier in this place. You wont see female soldier in this place too often, because most of them working as operator and other staff that works in office or in front of computer. And honestly, it’s quite hard for me to walk around this mass number of male that look at me every time I walk near them. Well, I’m currently wearing a pilot suit, or they usually called it exoskeleton suit that used to synchronize my body with my Coat. And it’s tight. It makes my body shape completely exposed. I think male’s suit looks fine, but I just wondering why female suit were made this tight, is this some kind of sexual harassment? Sophie : “Ennis, you looks annoyed.†A woman with gray hair and white uniform walk toward me and pat my head. Ennis : “Sophie, can you make another suit that doesn’t expose female body?†I said to her while observing around me and find out some man still looking at me. Sophie : “Do you want me to make a long dress for an exoskeleton suit?†she laugh at me. Ennis : “Come on…I’m not joking, those man sure annoyed me, they looking at me all the time and some of them look at weird direction…†Sophie : “Ok, don’t worry about that, after all, you’ve got a lot to show to them†she look at my body and I quickly cover it. Ennis : “It’s feel even more annoying when you look at me like that…†Sophie : “Well, what about the new feature? Do you like it?†Ennis : “Ah, that lock-on system?†Sophie : “Yes, you’ve tried it in simulation program right? How does it feel?†Ennis : “…Somewhat confusing and difficult to follow…†Sophie : “You must be talking about the number of maximum lock-on targets right? That’s good for Blanc since it has an incredible speed.†I look at a white Coat near Sophie. That’s Blanc. Le Sabre Blanc, The White Sword, that’s what Sophie called her. That’s my beloved Coat. A close-combat type equipped with swords as main weapon. It’s specialized to slaughter a mass number of enemy using its incredible speed. I’ve piloting it for about 2 years now and it’s been continuously upgraded by Sophie. By the way, Sophie Harvent is my engineer as well as my operator and a researcher in HORIZON’s laboratory. She’s in charge to monitoring Blanc and me as her test pilot. We’re talking about a new system created by her. Multi Targeting System, MTS-LOKI. That system make Blanc capable to lock a mass number of enemy and keep trace and sight of them. It’s really useful when fighting a lot of enemy especially mid air. But it requires a very high concentration since it will fill your monitor with a lot of lock on sign and data. And it also depends on the pilot to execute the attack when targets had been locked on. And with Blanc’s speed, the difficulties doubled. Ennis : “Well…I think it’s ok, I’ll train to get used to it.†Sophie : “Good girl, I’ll make some adjustment for you, dear. Hey, have you meet your team mates?†Ennis : “Nope, I’m busy with the test and simulation back then.†Sophie : “You have received the data right?†she give me her PDA . Ennis : “Isaac Reyndalt…Rictus Karasu…do you know them?†Sophie : “Well, Isaac Reyndalt quite well known here, he’s a blind man piloting a long-range type Coat, Retreat, well, as engineer, I said he’s a good one. And Rictus Karasu, also a good one, he’s piloting a flight-capable Coat, Moonlight, unlike Blanc, it equipped with a lot of long range weapon, but it seems the pilot himself prefer close combat.†She’s pointing at a man standing near a Coat not far from their location. Sophie : “You see a man there? That’s Rictus Karasu and his Moonlight.†Ennis : “I see…I think I’ll say hello right away.†Sophie : “Just hope he won’t get uneasy with your current sexy appearance.†She blink her right eyes toward me. Ennis : “Mind your own business!†I punch her shoulder and walk toward the man named Rictus Karasu. Ennis : “Excuse me, are you Mr. Rictus Karasu? I’m Ennis Graham, as the order said, we’ll be in the same team starting now. Hope for your assistance from now on.†I extend my hand toward him.

He didn't actually come out to meet her because he was in the middle of putting in a screw-bolt. It was busy today, so all of the air tools had been taken already. Even worse, he had a wrench in his mouth. He felt around until he found her hand and shook it. "Mife 'oo meet shoo." He leaned up and tossed his head so that the wrench landed on his chest. He put his glove in his teeth and pulled it onto his hand clumsily. He worked his fingers around and finally got it on properly, picked up his wrench and got back to work. "So, which Coat is yours?" |

[Samuel O'Harris] [Sparring Grounds] The sharp clang of metal rang out once more as the metal buckles in a boot striked against Samuel's greaves. While Aegis may always use a shield, Samuel found them rather clunky for hand to hand. Samuel instead much prefered leather greaves with metal plates on the outer forearms, less area than a shield, but easily worn on both limbs, and highly movable, not to mention can do quite a bit of damage. Samuel danced around most of his opponents blows, while being able to take and deflect a hit is important, its often better to just not get hit, especially when your skin isn't armor plated. On foot, Samuel was moderately light of foot, but it does help his opponent was one of the bigger brutes, hits hard, but isn't too fast. After ducking under one last kick, Samuel sprung up, forearm forward, and landed it right on the brute's chest. As the large figure was tilting off-balance, Samuel swept with his leg, with only one leg to stand on, and falling fast, Samuel's sparring partner fell, and hard. After wiping his brow of the excess sweat, Samuel walked towards his partners upper torso, and offered his hand to help him up. They may have both been exchanging blows just seconds before, but they were still on the same side. The other man took it, and though it almost felled Samuel himself, got himself up and dusted off. "Sorry bout that, I shouldn't have shoved with my greaves, I'd offer you a free shot, but, to be honest, you hit like a ton of bricks." Samuel said apologetically, chuckling a bit. He would have been more worried if he didn't spar with the guy several times before. "Pfft, don't worry bout it," the other guy said as walking off, punching Samuel lightly on the arm, even which, almost knocked Samuel over, "the thing about being big is, you find out what they say when we fall firsthand." The big one laughing at his own joke, Samuel following along after finally decrypting the badly worded joke. Samuel went to find a cool spot, and sat to rest for a bit. |

Isaac walked out of the empty room with books in his left hand and his walking cane in his right, tapping the ground and his surroundings constantly. "Being the only one in the room sure is... lonely", he thought as he proceeded to the hangar. He played a tape recorder that had his voice repeating the answers to his assignment's questions since he couldn't write properly when he's blind. He checked each answer that his voice clearly said, placing it close to his left ear and often playing it back as he found his way to the hangar. "I hope my new teammates are nicer than the ones I had before...", he thought as he silently tried to find his way to Team 1's part of the hangar. "Hopefully, they got around to preparing that voice-responsive maintenance tool for my Coat" He asked people from the different teams, most were kind enough to give him answers to his questions regarding directions. He thanked them, finally able to find his way to his team's section of the hangar. "Hello? Is this Team 1's area?", he asked as he poked Ennis's shoulder with his cane; his blank eyes looked straight ahead as he tried to get their attention. |
