| Hmm I think the English cast is ok.. Well the first time I ever watched a Bleach episode was on adult swim anyway. I'm not a fan of Bleach though.. so I only saw a few English episodes and a few Japanese. imho, the english cast wasn't horrible, and I agree that Ichigo and Rukia sounded pretty good in the dubs. |

Those who didn't like teh english dubs is either: 1. Had watched teh one w/ teh original casts (on subs) 2. Dun like the idea of having animes dubbed in english 3. Really hated teh english dub. I might say not all teh english cast are bad dubbers, I'd only say that they got teh character's spirit all wrong... that's why I dun think they didn't suited teh role. Though I'd like to say that english producers might want teh western audience to feel/relate to the characters... but still having anime characters sounding like "surfer dudes" is just too much... (just like what happened to most anime that was dubbed in english, anyone remember: +Rurourin Kenshin: Misao had a deep woman voice, Kaori was like "OOOHHH Kenshin", and some other titles such as Yu-Gi-OH/GX? Digimon? One Piece CCS? and wait.. Gensomaden Saiyuki? *shivers*) *edit: add teh Zoids Series too... and BeyBlade and Medabots...

As with all english dubs it sounds weird for several episodes, until you get used to it. Especially if you've seen the original Japanese. With most dubs I have no problems with the cast, there are always a couple exceptions, but for the most part the voicing is okay. My big problem tends to come from the translations that the VA's are given, example: 1. Yuzu and Karin refering to Ichigo by name instead of onii-chan. 2. Everyone in the series refering to each other by first name only. I have no problems with translating honorifics and such if they are translatable, but to just throw them away is, to me, an abomination to the spirit of the anime. Geass would be an example of a well dubbed anime when compared to the original Japanese. Nothing is too literal in the translations, the voices match the characters very well, and I never lost the feel of the anime in the transition from Japanese to English watching. Thank you for dealing with my rant. ^_^
