Obon matsuri = Obento no jikan ^^

SPRING!!!HARU!!!! Jomunga and Haniko went to park for Sakura viewing.. yeah!!! we made our very very very first OBENTO... If anyone has any pics of their own obento, pls post it. ^^ I didn't see any preexisting bento thread so I decided to make this it. Ours first self-made Obento   sakura suki  Ahiru    YUM YUM!!!   Haniko's first cute onigiri!!!  ENJOY!!!

In our bento is: onigiri, tamagoyaki, inari, tuna rolls, croquetts, octowieners, quail eggs, bunny apples, oranges, salad, green tea.  Jomunga eats your avatars. |

It's Balboa park in LA. The bento took so long to make, most of the time was spent on assembly. By the time we got to the park they were closing. But it was nice because everyone was leaving and it wasn't crowded anymore. After eating we still had time to feed the horde of ducks some sacrificial bread. Next time I will have a real bento box and be prepared. Jomunga eats your avatars. |

O.O omg! Is that the dinosaur shirt from Air TV? ^^;; Anyway... ^___^ It looks so fun. The cherry blossoms are so pretty. And of course, you two look like you're having the best time together ^^ |

On Sunday night, we went to Bon Odori Festival in Pasadena. We made our own Obento for it and I wore a yukata =D. We got the 3 tier Obento. 1.  onigiri, tamagoyaki, octopus wieners, gyoza, croquettes, sweet potato balls, raddish 2.  oriental salad, edamame, broccoli, cherry tomato, cucumber salad, tempura, inari, croquettes, raddish, eggs, baby corn, star carrots. 3.  oranges, strawberries, rabbit apple (rapples xD), grapes  Everyone was envious of our obento haha. All they got was the plain teriyaki bowl and some sushi..:P  Haniko in the Tea House  Honeyko and Jomunga were having bon odori folk dancing.  Us at night <3 before leaving

We pulled out all the stops for this obento. The festival was great. Taiko drums, dancing, foods, yukatas, stuffs, things, and ghosts at night. Thumbnails for your viewing pleasure.  With the new onigiri mold they always come out great.  Honey in the nice little garden.  I wanted to ring the bell, had to resist temptation.  They had bonsai and ikebana exibits too.  Kendo and naginata demonstrations.  Another pic of the bento of evil deliciousness.  Honey before devouring. Jomunga eats your avatars. |

I would totally try everything in that bento, at least a little. Looks awesome. It seems you guys had a blast of a time. :3

OMG!!! The bento looks totally yummylicious!!!! And there's a Sakura Park (ok... park with sakura trees...) in LA?! Thats so cool!!  |
