I've noticed that you can't quote others in here :\ (Or use basic BBcodes or html?) Konnichiwa (hello) Watashi wa Haruko! (im haruko) Watashi mo aisu ga hoshii desu! (i want ice cream too!) Watashi wa onna no ko :)) (im a girl) Anime ga omoshiroi ne? (anime is interesting, hey?) Watashi gakoo de benkyoo-suru (I study at school) is This correcT ?? To correct it for Haruko: Konnichiwa (hello) Watashi wa Haruko desu! (im haruko) Watashi mo aisu ga hoshii desu! (i want ice cream too!) - It's kinda random out of context though, but if you wanted to say 'me too', you'd only say 'watashi mo!' (Watashi wa) onna no ko desu :)) (im a girl) Or 'josei desu' (I'm female, which is how the natives clarify their gender) Anime ga omoshiroi ne? (anime is interesting, hey?) - Gramatically correct but unnatural in usage. If you wanted to express that naturally then: anime ga omoshiroi to omoimasu. (I think anime is interesting) Watashi gakoo de benkyoo-suru (I study at school) gakkou de benkyoushimasu (I study at school) - The oo or ou are fine, just a diff style of romaji, however, instead of 'suru' use 'shimasu' which is polite and matches with 'desu'. Big linguistic difference between JP and Eng: Japanese is a language that rarely relies on pronouns, so there's no 'I, you, he/she, it, we, etc' which are characteristics of the English and other European langauges. As a result, when you use 'watashi wa' for the first time, we already know who the subject is so no need to repeat 'watashi wa' in every line. Using it to introduce yourself is more than plenty :) |

Thank you very much mystique. I really wanna learn Japanese. I'm an ANIME LOVER but I can't understand them if it's in Japanese Audio. I only read the English Subtitles at the bottom and that's the only way I can understand the anime show. ![]() |
