DAX Error
Link | by Shato on 2007-05-29 18:32:26
Whenever I right click on any file on my computer, a DAX Error pops up that says "Access Violation at address 00EB1B86 in module 'EXTRAC~1.DLL'. Write of address 676E6974." Same exact message no matter what I right click on. After I click 'OK' the regular right click menu pops up exactly as it should. There's nothing else wrong (as far as I can tell) with my computer, and the Error message isn't really a problem - just an irritant.

Does anybody know why this message pops up and how I can make it stop?

It's probably the result of installing some program on your computer that added itself to the context menu, like WinRAR would, only it's causing errors every time windows tries to build its menu items. Now, I couldn't possibly hope to pick out what program could possibly be doing this out of all you have installed, but start uninstalling all but the essentials and it could possibly fix it.

Thanks, I'll try that now.
