@naru I'm not asking for translation nor transliteration thank you... check page 23. correction for u: not romanji but romaji or roomaji. and Pablo is not paburoo, but it's paburo (there is no ー). Since this is a name translation and not a name transliteration thread, I kinda wonder for a bit. To translate a name, the name owner must first give out the meaning behind his/her name. Then, it can be translated. If your name is a combination of your parents' names, then it can be solved by giving out the original names (the names of your parents), the translation can be done by combining the result of your parents' names. If your name has no etymology behind it, then your name cannot be translated but transliterated instead. To get the transliteration accurately done, you must first show how to read your name (what it sounds like). Things are much easier if you are a Chinese descent, your name is already in Kanji (Kanji are Chinese letters, btw). It's just the way you read it in Japanese. I'd be glad to help this thread out, but unless I don't know the meaning of your name- It's beyond my help.  |

I'm not too good at translating names and stuff, but seeing as how this post remains untouched for a while, I'll try ^.^; @Melanie メラニ, should work. That is basically Merani but the r and l is interchangeable in Japanese pronunciation. There are no set Kanji for your name. Like Sieghard said, if we don't know the meaning of your name, we can't use kanji to represent your name (in any case i'm bad with that anyways.) @ealvarou21 Scott Johnson would be... スコット ジョンスン literally, Sukotto Jyonson. That should work :O @Seiji uh... your first name would be ダヂ, Dadi, but I don't know how you would pronounce your last name. So I'm sorry. However, I can answer your question. Romanji is using english to replicate Japanese pronunciation. Hiragana is basic Japanese alphabet: ひらがな Katakana is used as an alphabet that replicates western pronunciation: カタカナ Kanji are the characters that follow similarly to Chinese characters: 漢字 |
