Well i don't really know what happened in the last episode but reading about it & judging by what happened i can proabably take a guess. Well the RAW version i first saw didn't have any messages which is why i was so upset with it. I later downloaded another version & after the OP credits there was the message at the very top of the "episode". Basically the whole "episode" was tranquil scenery of a city near the water....near the end there was a scene with alot of fishing boats. Which i take it the title "nice boat" came from. SO yeah if you saw pics of visual scenery that is what episode 12 is. I visited the School Days homepage & the whole site is locked leaving only a message stating further details will be posted at a future time. I posted what i needed to say in the Higurashi Kai thread...i had to disagree with some saying they were angry that the series was pulled despite what happened. Well DAngel-san if you find a RAW version you can see for yourself....you don't need subtitltes cause other than the message at the beginning the whole episode is just visual. *note* I read more about the story of the incident.....the teenage firl basically said "I Killed him" "I Hated him".....so i guess she didn't get along with her father....although that is just speculation on my part. So either series may have nothing to do with what happened.....like i said it was all a precautionary measure by the networks....which i understand completely. |

Yeah I won't even bother since it doesn't seem worth the time to see a bunch of boats and him talking about 'em. Not sure if this is a serious question to ask, but couldn't've easier not to show episode 12 at all? Or just delay the episode until further notice or whatever!? Cause I know some people who are not watching Bleach anymore, after being huge fans, and then those fillers came and boom... "I'm done with this friggin' anime forever", etc. I mean that could possibly happen to School Days and its fans, right? Who knows... There are still some small aspects I don't get yet, I'll try to read more about it later tonight or tomorrow. If you kill your father for hating him, that straight up tells me you hated your father that much and "did what you had to do"... Or, more like "you did what you wanted to do" for your own ruthless desires. Well besides this incident... guess... I'll wait 'til next Tuesday-mid next week for the final episode. Thanks for posting this info, tapmasterc. It's good to know these things sometimes. So yeah, I guess there's going to be episode 13? Or, would it still be labeled as 12? Cause the current RAW people have seen, it NOT an episode in my opinion. It's like some cheap slideshow made with Paint or something (no offense). ------- |

The scenery and boats slideshow wasn't Episode 12 of School Days. It was just a time filler because the TV station needed to put something on TV to take up the time slot of School Days. The actual 12th episode is stuck in limbo right now, still unaired to public eyes. Hopefully it will finally be aired next week... Hope that can clear some things up, DAngel-san.

Wow a lot of discussion happened well I was gone. Yea, I read about the School Days postponement. Sucks but I was kinda expecting a bad ending. (I hope it's Makoto that dies). I've heard from some Japanese friends over at Japan (Kyoto mainly) say that the anime studio stated that the last episode was going to resemble something similar to the "To my children" game ending. Now you guys know I'm going to be very happy about that. Hehe. Well, I'm at least glad this anime didn't turn into a harem, or Makoto getting away with two girls. But they did say the last episode was gonna be edited. So maybe that might turn out to be a possibility... Now about that girl who murdered her dad. Geez, do children get influened this much?! Wow... Whenever I play violent games and movies like Ghost Ship, Ring, Grudge, F.E.A.R., DOOM and blah blah, I really don't get any compulsion to do anything stupid. So I don't understand how she gets influenced so easily like that. |

@ SkyL-san The authorites have yet to link either School Days or Higurashi Kai to the murder. It may well have nothing to do with what happened. Like i said the girl basically said "I killed him, I hated him"...so my speculation is that it was a personal matter rather than something influencing her. THe pulling of the episode was just precautionary...to avoid public backlash who may have felt uneasy with it. It's better to postpone the episodes rather than have the possibility of not being able to see it at all. Do you think it is "To my Children"?.....i get from what i've read that it may be the "Saw" ending. Whatever the case it'll be interesting to see when it eventually gets shown...edited or not. I know that 'Nice Boat' wasn't the official episode...still it was kinda wierd & confusing when i first saw it. |

I was thinking that too, but the problem is the axe... Why would anyone be carrying around one in a house that's located in a Urban area??? Weird isn't it... I won't accuse until I know all of the truth. So far, all I have is speculation. See my post in the Higurashi thread |
Re: School Days

There is a possibility that the ending featured in the anime series will not be any of those featured in the game right? After all, anime has always drifted away from the original manga, games and novels. Due to the unfortunate incident in Japan, I pray the ending in School Days will be a happy one. |

For the anime to be cancelled, obviously the officials had to look at it. After seeing the real episode 12, evidentially they took it off the air. So taking that into consideration it is highly probable that the true episode 12 was pretty violent like the games. I guess the director wanted to stick to the roots to the successful effects of the game. |

Dang, this got canceled? That incident is pretty serious. O.o` So... episode 12 won't be released? ------- |
Re: School Days

I hope it won't be canceled. If I had to guess, the makers would probably re-do it to make it less violent. Like SkyL said, it would've been pretty violent for it to be taken off the air. =.= so yeah. I'm now anticipating the last episode to have no violence what so ever. =.= I know we were all looking forward to whats-his-face getting what he deserved but by the looks of it, seems that won't happen. |

Well, it's rumored that it'll be re-edited and then put back on. Though, now we know that the re-edit wasn't part of the plan. |

I figure that if they are gonna edit the final episode the "real" one will probably be released when the DVD comes out. It'll be included in the 'director's cut' version of it. They can still keep what they originally planned...all they have to do is when the killing part begins just show the shadows...or silouette of the knife or saw being used. They do it for alot of series & even hollywood horror flicks & the such. In any case i'm keeping a close eye on the official website for School Days to see if any new developments come around. You can do so also by clicking on the link i have in my sig. Nothiing to report yet...T___T. |

Yeah, but I just hope the last episode is going to be good. Would be kind of horrible 'cause the original episode 12 cannot be shown/subbed (for now), and if it was a bad ending where a few things don't go the way we want them to be. I just hate waiting. Just wanna see this thing already, but it's no big deal for me. It's a pretty short anime now that you think of it (I know it's only 12 episodes, but still...). ------- |

Re: School Days

umm from what i've heard they never said anything abotu the anime ending with someone getting killed...but on the game there is one of many endings where one of the characters get killed by another character with a knife
hooray for anime!

Re: School Days

@hello: Well, we can't really verify if there was violence in the end of the anime because it hasn't aired yet... But the fact that it got pulled off the air is a relatively strong indication there was at least some degree of violence if they thought it was too offensive to the matter the violent incident in Kyoto. |

I thought I stated the reasoning behind the pulling off of episode 12. For a anime to be pulled off air like School Days after an incident like that, the officials must have viewed the episode before it aired. Also, I was thinking that the game itself was popular due to its' shocking bad endings and therefore is highly probable that the director wanted the anime to be of the same nature. Another thing is that idea that Claymore, an anime with TONS of blood, guts and violence, hasn't been cutoff the air. Using that fact, we can safely think that whatever School Days episode 12 had, it must have been pretty visceral enough that even the officials probably went (>.>) Thanks to your article, the sentence, "The planned screening's location and time has yet to be decided, but it will take place on a late evening this week in the Tokyo area and require an "unopened package of the School Days or Summer Days PC game" for admission." says most of it. I think the unopened part must have been either a mistranslation or a typo, but even if it's not, the reasoning behind requiring a the game is for verification that the people knows just how violent the anime can get. The last part of the article says if AT-X preempts the episode, then it'll only be shown in Tokyo as the only screening for episode 12. Now it'll be hard to get a nice picture if it'll be on a screen now wouldn't it? Of course, I'm also leaving some degree of hope on the table. I really want to see the episode, but it may seem that we have to wait till Feburary to get it. |
