hmm so yukine'arc is not following the visual novel eh, especially about her brother. It's kinda refreshing in some way Yukine is so cute the whole episode, she's really the great housewife type isn't she xD

After seeing episode 7 a few times i kinda get why it is different than the visual novel. This is just my guess but i feel it seems appropriate. Everyone should know that originally Yukine was supposed to be a main character in the game. However it was changed cause there just wasn't enough material or length in her scenario to warrant being that. The episodes that are occurring in the anime series is my guess what Jun Maeda & comp. wanted to be in her story in the first place. Kinda like what Nasu-san is doing for Satsuki in the Tsukihime remake. Anyways the new material that weren't in the original game is refreshing indeed...in the game there was no 'rival gang', Yuu's dilemma was handled differently, there was no bar scene in the game. Also Yukine's brother is also handled differently. I'm very interested in what other new material they will add to spice up Yukine's scenario. Her arc was good from the start but it did felt incomplete, perhaps what we see in the anime is what Key really wanted to show in the original game. Anyone else feel the same way i do? @ Xiao-san You know what, you're the first person i talked to that didn't like TokiUta right away. I thought the song worked pretty well using the melody of Onaji Takami e. Jun Maeda did write the song & what ever he does usually turns out great. I don't think he has written a bad song yet. Anyways it is the lyrics of the song that really tells the story, by itself the song is great...however with the lyrics it becomes so much more. Don't worry you weren't the only one to shed 'MANLY' tears, i assume many who have heard the song has too. Even though it is a sad song i feel it is also uplifting...probably cause of the melody of Onaji Takami e...that tune in the OST gives off so much good emotions. What were you confused about in the episode about Yukine's brother? If i remember correctly in the game he was never shown, ala Shima-kun. He was mainly a delinquent rather than a gang leader (one of the changes made perhaps for the anime)....he was involved in an accident saving a fellow friend...cause of spoiler i'll end it there. Like i said the anime handled it differently but again i guess it is new material the should've been in the original game but for some reason cut. @ Raiz-san Yeah Yukine is really cute in the episode, is it me or does she always look like she has 'sleepy' eyes? Also the beginning with her cooking, isn't it a tad strange to have a kitchen in a reference room. I can understand having a coffee machine around but a working kitchen? One mistake & all those books will go up in flames!!! |

ermm well i guess since no one going to the reference room its alright to have kitchen right xD, and they only have portable kitchen stove which probably Yukine's Her eyes looks like Kotomi's eyes the sleepy type but in the game she really did feel sleepy...

I guess we all can agree on two things: 1. Yukine has sleepy eyes. 2. Yukine makes a great housewife (She can manage a whole lot of books and a mini kitchen all in one room) @izumo Yeap, must be new material. Usually I don't like new/modified content being added in the anime since since most of them turned into things like filler or really bad episodes (too many examples to list, D. Gray man is an example). Hopefully KyoAni doesn't screw things up. HOPEFULLY. |

i think you shouldn't worry about that, D. Gray Man is a shonen anime and it's very common for shonen to add some filler which is one of the reasons i stop watching shonen. And with this time constraint, KyoAni definitely won't have time too add filler xD Even if it turn out not as good as the game it wouldn't be so bad considering Key and KyoAni reputation I even expect it will be better than the game version

First talking about the music, I instantly feel in love with the OP episode 1 when I heard it. The ending took a little longer to get used too, too, but by now I also enjoy it as well, just not as much as the intro because the intro is simply beautiful. Such a masterpiece composition here, and Lia's beautiful as well. If you really listen to this song, you soul just gets absorbed right into the song. Now, moving along with episode 7 here which I just finished, it's pretty good. The ending is one of those teasers I hate seeing so much in anime, those "set-up" episodes, haha. This arc might be emotional again, and sorry I haven't played the game to really know the truth behind Yukine's character. Though reflecting the episode's content, I can tell I might be loving Yukine more since we know more about her. I already enjoyed her from last season where she had little screen time, but this arc is going to be fun to watch. Might be another short one though, but I'll love it in the end. One thing I have to ask is who's that hot 455 lady who entered the room where Tomoya, Sunohara, and Yuu were reading books before the bell rang? Like, I've seen this type of hotness in other "anime" before, but dang d00d. O.o` Then it got better when we went to that bar where that gang was (Yukine's brother's gang). Lots of funny little moments here during this particular scene, mainly involving Sunohara, lol. The older, mature girls were all flirting with Tomoya, and Nagisa got jealous and felt down. I felt sad after see her reaction to that, but it's another "couple" type thing that's un-official in the series, for now I suppose. Sunohara, typical Sunohara moments during this scene. I had a good chuckle at all of 'em. I agree with comments being said about Yukine above here. I think she's one of those ideal girls you dream about having, rather than the extremely perfectly fit busty hot type. She's sweet, caring, loving, pretty perfect to me (and she's incredibly cute). We need an official term for that "sleepy eye" look with girls, cause I like that look (mostly). :3 ------- |

Saw episode 7~ This is an interesting arc. Never thought Yukine would be involved in that kind of stuff. I love the gang members, haha! They're so sweet and funny. xDD I can't wait to meet Kazuto...I'm curious to see how he's like. As for the OP song, I loved it from the first time I heard it too, in episode one. =) My favorite parts are the really quiet talking/singing-like parts. Also, the beginning instrumental part works really well with the animation of the OP...though it was intended, but I just loved it. XD And if you listen to the full version, the piano part in the middle is just gorgeous. <3 I don't like the ED song that much. =\ I think it sounds kinda weird, especially the skipping parts, haha~ |

@xiao-san : i just saw the lyrics and now i understand why you shed your manly tears. Anyone who already finish the game or watch Clannad movie will understand what's the lyrics about, it's really beautifully written. Hm am i the only one who like Torch so much. I would say it's very typical Lia's song, most of her song have melody like this right? It's kinda hard to explain but when u first heard the song you will know the singer is Lia. If i didn't look at Toki o Kizamu Uta lyrics i would like Torch better xD

Yukine's arc trully the best of all arc so far! im really glad they make this alternative story for Yukine, the VN version is already good but this anime version is way way better. I really almost cry in this episode Clannad prolly the only anime that able to makes me wanna laugh and cry at the same time

@rai Since they took away the kyou and pretty much killed the tomoyo arc, i think i have to agree with you on this =P Some other thoughts to add on... Nagisa must surely have a lot of confidence that tomoya will stay with her... Lending her boyfriend out to many people on oh so many occasions seems like an easy decision to her >_>" And I want to punch the crap out of the rival gang. How can they mistaken tomoyo for yukine's brother?! Other than that, the climax was a huge surprise for me, as it is really good enough to make me almost cry. =D But the topic changing from yukine to the light orb happened to sudden... I think they can improve that on the DVD.. Hopefully. XD |

Something inside of me was glad to see Okazaki stand up against the other gangs leader. I'd have to agree the Yukine arc was pretty damn great. I had to rewatch the episode twice just because I felt it was needed! I love friday's, but most of all I love Clannad. |

I like what they did with Yukine's arc...again being only 2 episodes it was like Misae's arc. It showed quite alot of material that is vital to the overall story of CLANNAD. The new material added that was omitted from the original game made her arc the more memorable than it already was. If this was what Maeda-san & the folks over at Key wanted Yukine's arc to be like in the original game than i feel they improved on her story. I also liked the fact they added the 'sleeping on the lap' scene without changing too much of the 'Nagisa' arc....Yukine looked really cute during that scene <3 Of course Yukine's brother wasn't seen at all ala the game so he remains a mystery...it would be interesting to actually see how he looks like like they did with Shimai-kun other than a sillouhette of him. The whole idea of him in the hospital was a lie cause he had already passed away long before, it was just a something to keep both gangs in check. Another thing i thought was a nice touch was the cross-over from other Key games. The Sanae bread & Akiko jam combo (KANON reference) was absolutely hilarious!!! That has to be the best cross-over EVER!!!! Just so you know the HYPER RAINBOW is the name of the radio show which is often really funny. Although you have to know japanese to understand it, try to listen to it cause it is funny even if you don't know what they are saying. Anyways the reference to KANON makes me think that all the Key games are either related or takes place at the same time...i thought the Little Busters! reference from the first season was funny this one was much more funnier!! The brawl scene with Tomoya kinda reminded me from a scene in Tomoyo After where almost the same happened, although it may have been handled differently it appeared similar. Again maybe it was a cross-over reference. The preview for the next episode looks like they are nearing the end of the 'School Life' arc of the game, which means the After Story is almost about to begin. The setting up of Nagisa's fake graduation by Tomoya may be what they are about to show next. @ Xiao-san The gang members mistook Tomoyo for Yukine's brother cause it if you remember Tomoyo is famous for beating up people in the past. However of all the people she fought it was Kazuto who matched her equally, the outcome of that fight was never known but it was believed to have ended in a draw. Her strength is on par with Kazuto which is the reason for the mistaken idenity. Too bad Tomoyo didn't have a bigger involvement in the end brawl, that would be interesting to say the least. @ Raiz-san I agree that the series is both funny & emotional all at the same time, one of the few anime series that can hit you with every emotion which is why it is so memorable. Having played & experienced the game & now the anime series your emotions are even more hightened cause you remember these scenes in the game but seeing them in animated form gives off this feeling inside that feels pretty good. |

Yeah saw eight a while ago and I must say this was another awesome arc! Jesus, one after another. Truly getting better and better here, but judging from the PV and Izumo's predictions, it seems we're all gonna be needing tissues pretty soon, and I'm not expecting some sort of pantsu spin-off here either. The episode had a lot of emotions, especially in this one. The whole thing with Yukine's brother, who already passed on was so strong to me. What I really felt inside was when both gangs showed up and found out about her brother's "status". When they all gave their respects at his grave, that really touched me. Another good part was the Sakaki vs. Sunohara/Tomoya fight. I say Sunohara because he initially was going to fight him, before eating that rainbow bread from Sanae-san and the entire gang literally dropped dead. Luckily Sanae wasn't around to once again figure out the effect from her pan. Tomoya sticking up for their entire gang, for Yukine, was something else. Proves Tomoya is not a p-... coward, but he's a true man among himself. You can truly love Yukine entirely for what she tried to do, pretending to be her brother. I'm sure he'd be very grateful to have possibly one of the most caring and loving sisters ever. This part touched me dearly inside. I think I cried, inside that is. :P Yukine's nap on Tomoya's lap was a cute scene, but now that we're done with her arc, I'm very, very anxious to finally see the "change" of the series. We see the girls back again, and I surely missed them a lot. ------- |

I watched epsisode 8 last night. Very very touching. I think I pretty much agreed with what you said DA. And my tears almost came out on the outside hehe :P I'm really looking forward to seeing Kyou, Ryou, Kotomi again. Did I forget someone? And what's going on with Fuko!? Is she still about!? *Cracks on with the VN* I really enjoyed the Yukine arc. She was just an all around kind and gentle character. Tomoya standing up again and again after getting hit that many times was amazing. I don't think that Sunohara could of kept getting up like that. And Nagisa lending out Tomoya to Yukine was cute. The sleeping on the lap was very adorable! |

Episode 9 was a really sweet episode, in terms of showing how much Tomoya cares for Nagisa. Nagisa again succumbs to one of her 'attacks' & has to miss a huge chunk of school cause of this illness. There is alot of how you say skipping forward, mostly montages of school life eventually leading up to some sort of graduation ceremony (YES..even someone like Sunohara has graduated :D). This leads to not much actually happening..just shows the days going by while Nagisa is bed-ridden. Anyways there is a heart-warming scene during Nagisa's birthday which falls near christmas. Nagisa is extremely touched by her friends & the gift Tomoya gives her. Her expression & the way KyoAni animated this was beautiful...she was glowing. Another beautiful scene was with Nagisa in bed with Tomoya by her side. A nice conversation occur with the two in the end holding hands. There were some funny moments that happen especially with Botan & Kyou's overzealous nature...lets just say reading can be dangerous!!! The girls are playing their roles of side characters pretty well since very soon Nagisa & Tomoya will be taking center stage. I really loved the fact that they used the instrumental "Nagisa ~warm piano mix (found in the remix CD Memento) during the end scene with Nagisa & Tomoya. Judging by the preview it looks like Tomoya is going to plan Nagisa's graduation with the help of the old teacher. This part of the story was shown briefly in the movie version. @ Kirky-san Tomoya's character is a great one...he stands up for his friends regardless of the situation he is given. As for Sunohara i think he can take the abuse as well since he takes it all the time from Tomoyo & Kyou. @ Xiao-san Well if Tomoyo was involved it wouldn't be much of an episode since it would be over too quickly. Also anyone notice that Yukine's brother Kazuto kinda resembles Sunohara in a way...but cooler. |

Saw episode nine a few minutes ago, and yeah it's pretty heart warming. You really see Tomoya's true feelings for Nagisa burst in this episode, or they're "obvious" unlike the other episodes, but fans can obviously tell who likes who here. Her birthday is the same birthday as my friend's, and my dad's! Hmmm, wonder if I can get my hands on a Dango like that. The way Nagisa held it in her arms and was just speechless after receiving it was incredibly cute. She was speechless and didn't know what to say, and just hugged it like a little kid on Christmas morning. =^_________^= It's finally gonna take that "After Story" approach now isn't it? It sucks she's sick again. It's sad seeing her weak side, but she's still cute as ever. In this episode, Tomoya looked sick himself at certain parts. It's good to know he'll be around working in the bakery where Nagisa's parents work/own. I think that's pretty awesome, cause it goes in the direction of what he wanted mostly. ------- |

o.o Wow, episode 9 moved at a lot faster pace than I expected. It was a really nice episode though. Lots of emotion. :3 < Is a sucker for dramatic things. I'm excited to see what happens next now that Tomoya is out of school. \(^o^)/ And omg, I want that dango pillow that Nagisa got! XD |

@izumo ......... I cant imagine someone being used as the butt of almost all jokes in almost every episode being cool. >_<" Now we know that there will be two culprits placing mass orders on the upcoming dango plushie. Just a joke, but it might happen... Anyways, about the episode, looks like nagisa is as slow as sunohara, or rather tomoya is good at getting people at his own pace. I was hoping for a facepalm, but one can only dream so much. XD Looks like they used the 2nd part of what sunohara is going to do after graduation here. Good choice, since the first one is pretty.. outrageous. XD Ohhhh, finally we get to see the aftermath of kyou's attack. A regular attack can cause quite a crack on the wall... *imagines the scene where kyou attacks tomoya for pinching ryou's cheek in the VN... Uh, too scary.* Anyone betting that KyoAni will show all of botan's seven skills? I really would love to see that! XD And no fart? Damm. I was not expecting a time skip, but hey, that means After Story is here! Anyways, moving on to the main gist of this episode, tomoya is in his usual down syndrome again. It gets kinda repeatitive where tomoya will distance himself whenever he gets depressed or the like, but its great to see nagisa being the one who comforts tomoya. Nagisa! You have matured! Or rather komura has great eyesight! Now if you were to excuse me, I have some new insert songs to find... Thanks izumo for the information :3 |
