@ZPARTICUS Aye! Indeed. IBC 13 was the best. I remember the streets being vacant on weekends when the clock tolls 5:00 pm because by then we'd be home to watch shows on 13. *sigh* T_T nostalgic... If you could provide the very cheesy theme to Shaider, I would be happy to translate it ;) @Zell I have already forgotten most of the lyrics of the song, but I am translating anyway XD ito ang mga bayaning magiting.. Here are our brave heroes walang takot sa bangis ng kalaba'y di umuurong... Fearless and doesn't cower before enemies matapat na nagtatanggol ng inaapi... Dedicated in defending the oppressed mga huwaran, sa tungkuli'y tapat... They are exemplary, to their duty they are bound nakahandang mag-alay ng buhay... Ready to give their lives Maskuman tanod ng kapayapaan... Maskman, guardians of peace Maskuman laging maaasahan... Maskman, you can always depend on dapat nating tularan sa kabutihan... Their greatness we should follow Laser Squadron Maskuman Maskuman... Laser squadron, Maskman, Maskman!!! Dude, this is so bloody soul-destroying! I can go on and on with this. XD |

okay, let's not teach vulgarities, shall we? oh well, to teach them is good too... at least they know when they are being called such na. Quoting Michiyo-sama, much as it's enjoyable to teach everybody else curse words, it will cause the shutdown of this thread. And it'll sting if that happends. @ZPARTICUS Dude, I am already in my teens when that Rodel Naval song came around...Ouch! Yeah, that song is so cheesy, it actually has a stench. Hahaha! I do remember the opening to Shaider having a Tagalog translation *retreats to corner and pounds brain*. I will post it here when I remember...I can faintly recall guys dancing to it in Eat Bulaga. Okay. Now that really made me feel my age. It has this line, ...siya'y isang pulis, matapang na pulis... Yeah. I am not mistaken with that. I hope that jars your memory a bit. I will translate that Rodel naval song later, complete with guide, if I am not beaten by anyone to it :D Toxic at the hospital until this Friday, so I need to lay off. He he he |

yes i remember that, too.. XD wow.. and for the cursing topic i suggest that you make another thread for that.. where all curses of all languages used here in gendou are listed.. let's not view this in a negative a way.. if you think of it, curses is the most used words in any language, i think.. for example "baka" <-- this is a curse right? though most anime use it.. and if gendou or any mod wish to lock or delete it they may, without affecting this thread, which became useful to many ![]() |
Re: SOLI'S TAGALOG LESSONS~!!

Okay, what I miss~? Teaching vulgarities, are we~? (o3o) Well, without any further questions and explanations about the vulgar languages, just keep note on those words, maybe a filipino might say that in front of you dattebayo~ at least, you know what it means rather than being humiliated oωo Moving on...we're still on the basics~? Let's see...since only a few people are trying to ask questions of translation, we can teach them directions and stuff tebayo~ I think that would be easier (o3o) Dito (di-toh) - here (usually used for place) Diyaan (diya-an) - there (place) Ito (i-to) - this (thing) Iyan (i-yan) - that (thing || far) Iyon (i-yon) - that (thing || a bit farther than iyan) Doon (do-on) - there (place || farther) I think I might be mistaken, but the words are pretty easy to know by heart tebayo~ since they hear somewhat the same ¯(o3o)/¯ This post was edited by: YoSHiKuNi MiCHiYo on 01.February.2007 at 2305h Philippine Time ![]() |

"baka" is not a curse word. it literally means "idiot" or "stupid", ergo, it's massive useness in anime and any other japanese stuffy. the only reason it becomes a bad word is when you use it against a person, just how people use "bitch". no, i don't say bad words. but, did you know that a bitch is really what you call a female dog? you see, this only becomes a bad word when you use it against someone. so, if i were to tell you what a female dog is, i'll tell you that. but if i were to curse, ah, you'll never hear me say that. now you get the picture? oh yeah, by the way, baka in english means cow. XD baka = tagalog cow = moooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo immpy, i edited your post adding some stuff nga pala. i'll ask gendou if it's alright for us to have a vulgarity thread, but i doubt that he will approve of it. after all, it IS important that we know what we are being called in multiple languages. you just never know. just to let you know! i'll be filtering this thread soon... XD i might as well compile all the stuff too! -michiyo- ![]() beware. the QueeN oF SiGGieS is here. kill that mr. scrolly or your siggy goes BAI BAI. it's solidarity month! let's be united! +[-- GeNDouNiaNS: i am half-back! visit my blog by clicking on the siggie banner! updated: 12.07.07 --]+

heehee~! okay lang. XD i read na the previous posts, and honestly, i don't know where to start summarising where we have gotten. i saw the crappy computer part. i'd say "palpak ang computer ko" because it's palpak naman talaga eh. nyeh~ ay~ paano ba. shall i start with the basics, or dire-diretsuhin ko na? sabi nga ni maia, malalim daw ang aking pananagalog... nako, patay tayo niyan. (alright peeps! decode decode! XD) i rememebr we have a set of words that just NEVER gets translated: - ba - nga - eh and a whole lot of them... we don't really notice it, until we actually look into our grammar... what do you call them again? -michiyo- ![]() beware. the QueeN oF SiGGieS is here. kill that mr. scrolly or your siggy goes BAI BAI. it's solidarity month! let's be united! +[-- GeNDouNiaNS: i am half-back! visit my blog by clicking on the siggie banner! updated: 12.07.07 --]+

Re: SOLI'S TAGALOG LESSONS~!!

Pointing at Michiyo's words, ba, nga and eh are considered as "slangs" in Filipino tebayo~ just like the word that I always use --> "DATTEBAYO~!" a slang in Japanese... Weeh~! NAruto always uses this word tebayo~! And so am I (o3o) ![]() |

slangs?... nice, what do you use them for?... I mean: ba: mostly for this and this an this... eh: same... and so on! ^_^, I'd like to know! Etto... we use some (actually a lot) of those too, is just that I don't know how to explain them, like "epa", "uy", "uff", and some more. (is this what I think you're talking about?) ![]() ![]() |
