| Hey, I suppose you can, but then again, no. Don't push yourself in learning two hard things at once. Do you know that it takes 3 full years of uninterrupted (I mean you can still juggle it with your school education) studying of the Japanese language? And if you master the Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) language (if as a secondary language, not native), it would make sense that you have a high intellectual capacity (in short, smart). |

if ya know how to speak any asian language, then learning an asian language shouldn't be hard. I should know since I'm learning Chinese and Japanese and they come easy for me. :P  |

learning a language when you're older might prove to be slightly tougher as we normally pick up the language since young... but i believe if you put your heart into everything you do, it is possible..... =)

Of course you can!!! A person's memory is the best during the teens age...so treasure it!!! USE IT WHILE YOU CAN!!! I'm 13, and I'm learning 2 languages right now...and I know two already ^^ |

I agree, but the best time to learn a language would be in your elementary years since in highschool years, you've distractions of guys or girls and you just can't seem to find time to learn the language. |

well, that's logic. puberty doesn't stop until your mid 20's just to let you know. and also, you are distracted by friends and the need to have fun, so you hold off on the learning. :P |

maybe...but that doesn't mean I was being heartless about it. if you really want to learn a language and you've already started highschool, it'll be hard to concentrate for various reasons. I'm no exception. Chinese was hard enough, but japanese nearly killed me since I had to make the initiative to do it on my own without destractions. All in all, it would normally take a month without distractions to fully learn a language, but with distractions, it'll range from a couple months to 4 years. and *SPAM* does anyone else have any opinion? |
