Four words, Pikachu, Ash, and apart.

Where Pikachu and Ash were about to go their seperate ways.

On a serious note, all anime has those scenes. I can't single one out...

"Everytime when a good anime ends its a sad moment. When you know, there will be no new story in this world you loved. Its like a part of you is broken away. (My extreme feeling...) You see, I only stay living through anime."

I know what you mean.

Also, for my contribution to this thread:
Mai-HiME. Pretty much all of it, but it really starts around episode 15.

Do I have to be the first person to say FMA Episode 25, "Words of Farewell" was a very sad moment?

When You-Know-Who died, and his daughter was like "Why are they burying daddy? He said he had work to do! Please, stop!"

Breaks my heart and brings me to tears every time.

@rougejedi
I completly agree I was so ticked when that happened...=(

I swear I would not stop crying when butterfree left ash in pokemon(i was seven).

Another moment that I found sad was in the naruto filler when Kiba thought he would have to put akamaru down.

By the way Kazuma: That girl's name from Rahxephon is Asahina, and I must say that was one of the first really sad moments I ever saw in an anime series before.

WARNING HUGE SPOILERS!!!
WARNING HUGE SPOILERS!!! (duh)

Top 3 saddest moments in order from least to most:

3rd: Most people would probably put a series like Kanon here, but for me Kanon wasn't really sad since I found it kinda corny (sorry, but their "disappearances" or whatever you wanna call it were kinda cheesy). For me, the scene near the end of Elfen Lied where the Cheif gets blown up with his real daughter belongs at #3.

2nd: Makoto Shinkai deserves this spot with "The Place Promised in Our Early Days" especially when Sayuri finally wakes up near the end. The scene where he finds her between the split dimensions in the hospital room was very touching too.

1st: The ending of Air- anyone who has seen it would agree with me. Though a lot of the TV series was sad too, but the climax in the series and the movie was when Misuzu walks over to her Mom and then dies. First time ever in my entire life that I cried from any sort of visual media (like a tv show, movie, video game, etc.)

@Darksamurai777: I laughed when Flay died too! That was really funny how Kira's like "NOOOOO!!!!!, phew, saved her just in time!" *Bang* "wha, NOOOOOOO!!!!"

Beware the quiet people, You don't know their intentions
(small signatures are sooo much cooler since they don't annoy people trying to read through posts!)
